About MadParkNews
MadParkNews was created to help keep neighborhood locals and visitors informed about music and art events, restaurant openings, shopping, local deals, and news in the Madison Square Park and Flatiron neighborhoods.
While currently thriving, the Madison Square Park area of New York City still suffers from an identity crisis. It’s sort of in the Flatiron neighborhood, but also touches Chelsea, Gramercy, Murray Hill, the Garment District, and has even been called ‘Midtown South’ or ‘Nomad’ on the north. Some people don’t even know it until you mention the Shake Shack or the Flatiron building.
Since a major renovation in 2001, the Madison Square Park area has seen an incredible array of live music, art installations, kids programs, world class restaurants, entrepreneurial startups, new shops and services, and conversions of commercial space to thousands of residential units. What was once a sleepy commercial district is now one of the best neighborhoods in New York City.
