May 15 is Internet Evangelism Day

May 10th, 2011

Internet Evangelism Day (IE Day) is coming soon! If you’re not familiar with IE Day, it’s a Sunday each year when Christians are encouraged to think about and discuss the ways that the Gospel is and can be communicated through the vast and varied medium of the internet.

This year, May 15 is designated as Internet Evangelism Day, but IE Day’s organizers encourage Christians and churches to consider the topic of internet outreach all throughout the month of May. To that end, they’ve made a number of resources available for use in a church or small group setting—articles, mp3s, discussion guides, and much advice about making good use of social networking, website design, and online interaction to share the message of Christ. It’s all available at the IE Day website.

The Digital Evangelism Issues blog is the best place to keep up with IE Day and related stories. If your church congregation or study group would benefit from discussion and education about online evangelism, there’s a lot of material there to explore.
