Hi, I am Mike.
I think of myself as a CG generalist, with working knowledge of 3D modeling, lighting, compositing, special effects, realtime graphics and programming. I do most of my 3D work in Blender, a fast-evolving, open-source 3D package. I also dabble in photography and videography when I am not busy playing with Blender.
I am currently working on developing a biomolecular visualization software using Blender at Harvard. Before that, I worked on a marine ecosystem visualization project at the University of British Columbia in Canada for three years as a visualization specialist. Last year, I hosted a 4 hour workshop at the ViewConference in Torino on Blender special effects; as well as presented my works at the 2010 Blender Conference in Amsterdam.
I can be reached at mike.c.pan@gmail.com should you want an estimate, have a question, or just want to say hi.
