Student Services

Student Services helps students with registration and course schedules, provides information about lessons and student records, assists with the examination process, and answers general questions. Our Academic Advisor can help students communicate with instructors, locate helpful resources, and maximize their distance learning experience.

Faculty Support

The Course Manager coordinates with academic departments, schedules course developments and revisions, negotiates instructor work loads, and monitors class sizes and wait lists. The LMS Coordinator provides personalized support in maintenance of Blackboard class sites, archives course material, and secures desk copies of textbooks for UAF eLearning and Distance Education instructors. The Faculty Liaison assists faculty with classroom management, monitors student satisfaction surveys, facilitates effective communication between faculty and students, provides helpful resources, and serves as a primary point of contact for faculty questions.

Administration

Design Team

The Design Team provides faculty training and assistance in course development. Emphasis is placed on current understanding of best practices in adult learning theory for both online and print-based courses. The team also provides expertise in the use of enabling technologies—from broadcast-oriented offerings (audio, streaming video) through cohort-oriented approaches (video conference, web conference) to social network models (weblogs, RSS, social resource sharing) and other emergent techniques.
