About Me
My name is Melody, and I like words.
I am the communications director at the International Reporting Project, an independent journalism nonprofit in DC, and I also write freelance articles.
I like tigers too.
I received my bachelor’s in English and linguistics at Georgetown University, and I’m currently pursuing my master’s in writing at the Johns Hopkins University.
In my spare time, I train to compete as a figure skater and dote on my unruly black Lab and unusually friendly cat.
I really like books.
This blog began as an outlet for my book reviews in 2009. I’m particularly interested in local literature, authors, bookstores, and events about or from the Washington, D.C., area. The link between identity and geography in literature fascinates me.
In addition, I write about travel, writing, cooking, and, of course, my pets.
If you have any ideas, comments, links, or suggestions, please feel free to email me at MelodyAWilson@gmail.com or contact me through any of the social networks you see to the left.
