Sandhill Regional Library System cardholders now have access to Freading, a new eBook service with over 20,000 titles available. An unlimited number of cardholders may download a Freading eBook at the same time so there are no holds needed and, best of all, there’s no waiting!
Freading is compatible with almost all eReader devices, including iPhones, iPads, Android devices, Kindle Fire, Nooks, and Kobo eReaders. Instructions on downloading books to specific eReader devices are available here.
To access Freading, go to https://srls.freading.com. After clicking on the Log In tab at the top right-hand side of the page, you will be asked to enter your library card number. If your card has not been active in the past five years, you will need to contact your local library to have it updated before Freading will work.
You will also need to create a free account with Adobe Digital Editions before getting started.
Each SRLS cardholder is allotted 10 tokens each week which may be used to download eBooks. Books range in value from 1 to 4 tokens, with most newer titles “costing” 4 tokens. New titles are added on a weekly basis, and most eBooks may be renewed for “free” (without using additional tokens).
Still have questions? You may also check out the FAQ section of the Freading website for answers.

From the Director's Desk
As Director of Libraries, I want to personally
welcome you to the Sandhill Regional Library System Website. A
15 member Library
Board of Trustees with each of our five counties represented by
three members governs our five counties, Anson, Hoke, Montgomery,
Moore and Richmond. In addition, we have local advisory boards
in each of the five counties as advocates for our libraries.
The
Sandhill Regional Library System is in its 50th year of library
administration for our five counties. SRLS currently has fifteen
libraries, two bookmobiles, and one Web on Wheels Bus delivering
library services to our Sandhill citizens.
The Sandhill Regional
Library System has a history of award winning service. Over the
years, SRLS has won more than 20 State and
National Awards for programs and leadership. Two of our Trustees
have received
the North Carolina Trustee of the Year Award and one was honored
with American Library Association National Honor of Trustee
of the year. Three Senators and a Representative from our area
have won the NC Public Library Association Distinguished Service
Award. The previous SRLS
Director
won the ALA Public Library Association Allie Beth Martin Award
for Library Excellence.
Awards for service and individuals are possible
only
by continually bringing good people into our library family, on
staff , on
boards and new library customers such as you. SRLS has a
proud tradition
in rural librarianship maintained by constant training of
staff to better serve our communities and by leadership and advocacy
of our Regional Board and recommendations and advice of our
local boards, all of whom advocate for libraries.
We welcome
your presence in our libraries and on our website.
Jesse Gibson , Director
of Libraries
