My name is Greg Rahn I’m currently working at Cloudera on Hadoop and Big Data challenges.

Prior to Cloudera I worked as a database performance engineer in the Real-World Performance Group at Oracle Corporation for over 8 years (2004-2012) and started working with Oracle databases in 1997.

My goal with this blog is to communicate how I have worked through some of the performance challenges that I’ve encountered as well as discuss performance and scalability topics that may benefit others in the user community.
