Try Upgraded™ MCT Oil and get upgraded energy levels immediately, or your purchase is on us.

Medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) work directly in cells to give you an extra boost to maximize your performance.  Very little MCT oil is stored as fat because it is used for energy so quickly!

Tired of constantly craving caffeine?  Want a thermogenic immune boost with your energy?

Say goodbye to coconut oil and hello to energy 6x stronger.  Upgraded MCT Oil benefits:

  • Fast Energy - Upgraded MCT oil converts into energy faster than other oils*
  • Better Blood Chemistry - Helps maintain healthy cholesterol levels, controlling LDL (bad) cholesterol levels and boosting HDL (good) cholesterol levels*
  • Nutrient Absorption - Improves the body’s absorption and use of vitamin E, calcium, and magnesium*
  • Immune Protection - Works to control harmful bacteria, viruses and fungi inside the body*
  • Healthy Cell Membranes - Serves as stable building block of cell membranes*
  • Easy Storage - No refrigeration required and liquid at room temperature*
  • Make meals more Bulletproof - Flavorless and easy to add into diet.  Mix into any smoothie, soup, sushi (my favorite!), or most recipes*

Upgraded MCT oil is extracted from palm and  coconut oil in a time consuming process, making it the most potent MCT on the market.  No metal catalysts are used in the manufacturing process, and every batch of our MCT is tested for heavy metals.  Upgraded MCT is 100% capric and caprylic acid and has a perfect 8-10 carbon saturated fat level.

Upgraded MCT oil is suitable to cook at temperatures under 320F.  It does not trigger the following allergies: celery, cereals containing gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, lupin, milk or its derivatives, mollusks, mustard, peanuts (including peanut oil), sesame seed or its derivatives, soybean or its derivatives, Sulfur Dioxide, tree nuts, wheat or its derivatives, and more.  It is highly, highly purified.

How to Use Upgraded MCT Oil

spacer Upgraded MCT Oil is a supplemental oil that acts as a substitute for some of the usual oil in your diet.  It should not be used to replace all of the fat in your diet.

Begin using MCT 1 tablespoon per day and slowly increase over several days.  Too much MCT, especially if consumed on an empty stomach, may result in diarrhea or a stomachache.  1-3 tablespoons per day is recommended for Bulletproof practitioners.

The best way to maximize energy is to use Upgraded MCT Oil in your Bulletproof Coffee.  Mix your MCT oil with grass-fed butter and combine it with Bulletproof Coffee to gain hours of energy and lose inches off your waistline!  It may also be used in smoothies, salad dressings, and many recipes.

Upgraded MCT Oil is packaged in a BPA-free plastic bottle.  Upgraded MCT Oil is GMO-free, aflatoxin-free, BSE/TSE-free, and melamine-free.

  • Frustrated repeat customer

Shipping “sometime” in Oct, eventually, when we get around to processing your order, if we have time, you know, because we’re busy.

I am sure this will be a great product, but upgraded self order handling and shipping is just so slow and frankly JV.

    • Barry

I had the same issue with my last order. However, I think that when you desire the kind of quality offered here, it will come at the cost of time, convenience, and money.

      • Dave Asprey

Guys, we’re fixing this. The problem is that I went with the best MCT I could find, but the supplier didn’t ship it reliably. I was effectively at their mercy, which meant my customers were too. I even personally ran out of MCT oil and had to give the cheap stuff to my kids, and it’s NOT the same. That is so unacceptable on many levels.
That’s why I identified an even more pure form of MCT – the purest on the market in fact – and bottled it myself. You can imagine how much it cost to get a truckload of the stuff, do world-class microbiological and oxidation testing, and find BPA free packaging. But we did it anyway, and knocked a few dollars off the price.
I’m really hoping that by becoming a manufacturer, this stock problem never happens again. I’m doing my best, but I won’t compromise quality along the way. -Dave

What is the source and extraction method for this MCT OIL? I know you always source your stuff but I am curious.

        • Sonia W

Ditto or this question. People keep asking me this too – no answer to give but curious myself.

        • geehuro

Dave, glad I found you. Then, coincidentally you were just on the Rogan Experience. Great podcast. My question is the most fundamental and basic, which I was unable to find: butter, has been stigmatized as horrible for health (heart/cholesterol), yet you suggest tossing a huge pad in your morning coffee. You spoke of the faulty science with respect to the negativity towards salt in the media et cetera — is there a similar error is the stigma attached to butter? I have developed a conditioned aversion to subjecting myself to a dash of butter let alone 1/4 stick every morning. Also, I was turned on to macadamia oil because of its low saturated fat, and then next day I hear saturated fats (coconut oil being one of the most saturated) are actually good for you with respect to leptin or something. Although this post is lengthy, the answers I’m sure are simple: shifting away from the current low fat/low carb/high protein world we live in, to a high FAT plan that you abide by, why is this fat (especially associated with butter and saturated coconut oil) safe/effective/optimal?

        • Frustrated Repeat Customer

Dave–huge fan of Bulletprool Exec and Upgraded Self Store. Have spent about $500 at Upgraded Self Store. Why advertise Oct shipping when you keep slipping the ship date and we are now in looking at 09 Dec (I’ll believe that when I see my order)?

    • Frustrated Repeat Customer

Told you so. I pre-ordered, shipping date already had slipped to mid-Nov, then 29 Nov, now 9 Dec.

    Yummy MCT!

  • cogrick2

Interesting. I just bought a bunch of MCT oil from your store. How is this one different? I wonder if what I bought is “packaged in a BPA-free plastic bottle” and “GMO-free, aflatoxin-free, BSE/TSE-free, and melamine-free.” Thank you for introducing me to MCT oil. I am quite happy with the benefits to energy and appetite reduction I get with MCT oil, coconut oil, and butter (often combined!)

  • Trevor

How does this compare to new foods MCT oil?? I would love to try it but I would like to understand why your product is better then another great company. here’s a link to their site www.nowfoods.com/Sports/Products/StrengthAndPerformance/M099642.htm

    • twitter.com/AaronJAnderson Aaron Anderson

Seems like the exact same product, if you check the labels closely. From coconut/palm, c8 and c10 fatty acids.

  • skinny guy

If I’m already skinny, and shouldn’t drop any weight, should I stay away from this? or is it one of those adaptogen type things?

    • Vince

Hey , im awaiting the same answer . im 155 and have a hard time gaining weight do to my mindful diet

  • deadndivine

This Dave guys seems cool as shiza

  • alexwest

is this safe for pregnant women?

    • Dave Asprey

It’s a primary type of fat found in breast milk, and my wife Lana used it extensively during both of her pregnancies…and we mention it in the Better Baby Book. BUT…as with all questions like this in the US, the answer is, “ask your doctor.” ?

      • geehuro

dave, if i am correct, this MCT oil omits lauric acid, which i’ve gathered has quite its own healthy properties, leading one camp to argue the natural state of coconut oil is best. thoughts?

        • Luke

Yes, I would like to verify this too. Lauric acid is C:12 so I would assume it is missing this.

  • Jim McBean

Hopefully the coconuts and/or palm kernel, are from organically grown, sustainable harvested (non-Indonesian) sources?

  • www.facebook.com/amritrosell Amrit Rosell

    Is the MCT-oil already out?
It is stated on this page it ships from October 24th, and today it is not available to purchase…

  • Jon

How can I buy this stuff in UK, anyone?

  • Danny

Is there an equivalent product available in the UK? £30 shipping is quite expensive,

“Healthy Cell Walls – Serves as stable building block of cell walls”

Eukaryotic cells (animal cells) do not have cell walls. Cell walls are not made of lipids (oils). There being nothing correct about this statement, I can’t help but question all of the claims on this list. Where is the research supporting these claims? Is there research supporting these claims?

    • Dave Asprey

Yes. An obvious mistake that made it through my editing process. 7th grade biology. I was simplifying from “lipid bilayer” as cell membrane is a misnomer; there is no actual membrane in animal cells, just as there is no wall. I will fix it, thanks.
I encourage you to keep questioning all claims on this site and everywhere else. That’s what science is all about.
Note medical journals print mistakes too; it does not invalidate the rest of what is written…
Thanks again for improving the site.

Sent from my nobile phone. You understand….

If you have severe constipation, then by all means, buy this product. If you are NOT backed up like I-35 at rush hour, steer clear unless you like sharting yourself. The coffee this guy is selling is top notch though, for real!

    • kindfoodfarm.wordpress.com/ KindFoodFarm

You just have to start with a small dose of MCT oil and increase slowly, to avoid nausea or diarrhea.

  • Ray Collins

Dave, please start a branch in the UK!!!

  • Kevin

Do you have a retail location in Vancouver?

  • Dan

I am reading some conflicting studies on MCT/coconut oil effect on Cholesterol. Though the lauric acid seems to boost HDL, the 90% saturated fat seem to still be the “bad” guy. During the podcast with Joe, you have mentioned that coconut oil gets a wrap from an old study, if I heard correctly. Are there any updated studies that you can refer me to? thank you.

    • Dave Asprey

See my podcast with Dr Mary Newport!

  • Roman

This is really annoying but I wouldnt complain unless there is reason to complain. There is no way to reach anyone that works for bulletproof. Everytime i call customer service they say they will send an email to bulletproof on behalf of me. The outsourced customer service is inefficient. I ordered mct oil and upgraded cofee on october 23rd. Both products said that they were available that week ( this was in the old batch and was before the information aid that they were overtaken by joe rogans fans so i did not even get the 20 percent discount ) and now i still have no cofee or mct oil and cant even cancel my order because the hacks that work in customer service cannot offer anything except sending an email on my behalf. This is really frustrating and not bulletproof.

    • Dave Asprey

Roman our customer service is not outsourced, but our phone orders are. A stellar guy named Aaron runs it. I introduced you to him directly via email.
I’m sorry this happened and will figure out what caused it so it won’t happen again. We will also do what it takes to make this right for you; either an immediate refund or we will send you a double order at no extra charge.
Thank you for your support and for sticking with me during this unusual period of fast growth combined with Hurricane Sandy. We are getting everything in stock as fast as humanly possible.

      • Mike B

Same here? Said coffee was available right away and MCT oil in one week. Nothing yet and no 20% discount? If I’m going to have to wait at least I’d like to get my 20% off like everyone else is getting for the inconvenience? Thanks, Mike

      • www.facebook.com/amritrosell Amrit Rosell

MmmmHmmmm. Same here. I placed my order on the 25th, realizing after 1 week my order wouldn’t go through due to ordering the back-ordered MCT-oil I emailed the support of upgradeself.com to ask them if I could cancel my MCT-oil and then send the rest.

The support staff hasn’t even replied to my email.

Running a webshop means taking care of customers.

I wouldn’t write here if I could get hold of the staff, but since I can’t I am compelled to write here.

I understand you have alot to do and I am usually patient, but when I can’t even get a reply on a simple question, then I need to seek other ways for contact.

        Cheers
        Amrit

        • Dave Asprey

          Guys,
This sucks. I have everyone answering emails all day long, but there is just too much to do it quickly. Hired a new person starting Monday to do it faster.
I’m really sorry about this…don’t know how to make this more effective right away. I have done all I know how to do to keep my supporters and customers updated. You’ll get your money back if you want it, or I promise to ship your stuff the very second it rolls off the production line. If there was a way to spend more to make it faster I would have already done it.
Thanks for your patience and sticking with me…doing everything I know how to do to make it right quickly.

Hmmm… Second time my post won’t stick.

Anyhow. Thank you for replying Dave. Much appreciated. And, I hear you, and I feel you. spacer

One quick tip. Inform people on the upgradeself site about the situation, this will most surealy help alot of people calm down and not be sending any repetetive emails. I think such information will go a long way.

          Cheers
          Amrit

  • Kariann

Dave, I want to start adding MCT oil to my diet right away but i see you are sold out until the end of November. Will i still see the effects from Now Foods MCT oil? Available on Amazon? What’s the different between yours and theirs?

    • twitter.com/AaronJAnderson Aaron Anderson

Nothing as far as *I* can tell. I use the Now Foods product because I can get it at a discount. Now Foods and this product are both c8 and c10 fatty acids, and from a mix of coconut/palm.
