SIPNOC 2013 Venue and Dates

In order to make travel to SIPNOC 2013 from points in Europe as well as locations in the United States as convenient as possible, the SIP Forum will be hosting SIPNOC 2013 in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area at the Hyatt Dulles Hotel in Herndon, Virginia, just a few minutes from Dulles airport.

The dates for SIPNOC 2013 are confirmed for Monday, April 22 - Thursday, April 25, 2013.

SIPNOC 2013 Program Committee and Call for Presentations

The SIPNOC Program Committee ensures that the SIPNOC 2013 agenda is built by a panel of operational experts and presented in a setting that will encourage the meaningful exchange of day-to-day operational experiences.

The program committee will review workshop topic proposals and position statements, principally from service providers, and the resulting discussions will focus on implementation experiences and best practices relating to deploying SIP in the network.

The official SIPNOC 2013 Call For Presentations has been published and contains specific timelines and deadlines for submissions, and well as the various policies that govern the selection of content for the conference.

Special Keynote Address

Each of the previous SIPNOC conferences have featured special keynote addresses from prominent industry and governmental figures, and SIPNOC 2013 will be no different. SIPNOC 2011 featured a keynote from then FCC CTO Dr. Douglas Sicker, and SIPNOC US 2012 saw current FCC CTO Henning Schulzrinne on the podium. SIPNOC 2013 Hotel Reservations

The SIP Forum has negotiated a nicely discounted room rate of $174/night at the four-star Hyatt Dulles Hotel. This rate includes in-room WiFi Internet access!

Other valuable benefits include a free shuttle bus to and from Dulles Airport and free parking in the hotel parking lot.

SIPNOC 2013 Media and Analyst Access Policy

SIPNOC is being developed as an educational conference for technologists and engineers within the operator community to share ideas, experiences (both good and bad) and best practices in a private setting. As a result, the SIP Forum has decided not to issue credentials for media and analysts to attend the conference, and as a result SIPNOC conference sessions will be closed to media and analysts.

It is our hope that our SIPNOC conferees will appreciate this decision, and that our friends in the press and analyst community -- those that have supported the SIP Forum with their coverage of our activities over the years -- will understand the rationale that went into making this decision.

SIP Forum representatives and select speakers will be available for interviews and briefings following the conference upon request, as well as various content that emerges from the conference proceedings.
