Cloud Based SSO Identity Provider? Where Would You Put It?

Written on March 17, 2013 at 10:46 pm, by Chris

What’s the #1 cloud application today?

Email!  And who’s the #1 Enterprise email provider?

Google Apps!

If you have made the intelligent transition to Google Apps then chances are this is where your users start and finish their day (seriously, it’s got just about everything).

So why would you put a cloud based identity provider anywhere else?  It’s 2013, why not consolidate functionality in the applications you already know and love, don’t force your users to go to some other application to get to their #1 App.

This is the SecureAuth vision realized.  Allow users to log into Google Apps and then present them options right in their browser.  Not make them go to some other website or web app.

So if you take away 1 thing here it’s this.  Why would you use Salesforce Identity or Okta to create the true SSO portal for your users in the cloud?

You already have that account in Google Apps, now start making it work for you!

Hey CNET! We got your (Universal NFC) App Right Here!

Written on March 5, 2013 at 10:01 pm, by Garret

Well we do…

SecureAuth  has solved the Universal NFC app that C|NET  wrote about in:

spacer

#6. Stay on the side of convenience

The requirement:

Will you have to download a specific app and open it every time you want to use NFC with something (thereby making it more of a hassle than a shortcut,) or will smart software authors also launch the app you need and get you started in the right place?

The answer –   “SecureAuth IdP for NFC“:

This is EXACTLY what SecureAuth IdP for NFC executes on.

SecureAuth provides a single NFC app that allows users to:

  1.  Swipe their NFC Card/token
  2.  Obtain immediate access to:
    •   Web Resources  (SharePoint, ASP.NET, J2EE, etc)
    •   Network Resources  (Citrix, Juniper, F5, etc)
    •   Cloud Resources  (Google, Microsoft Office 365, Salesforce, Etc)
    •   Mobile Apps (Android, Apple iOS, Windows Surface)

It’s literally that easy – and that powerful.   (See image #1)

Image #1:   SecureAuth authenticates the  NFC token and then provides SSO to all enterprise resources:  Web, Network, SaaS and Mobile

How SecureAuth Does it:

SecureAuth has written the app that reads the identity from the card. Actually, That was the easy part.

The real secret is that SecureAuth wrote a whole identity provider that:

  • Pulls the ID from the Card
  • Maps the Card ID to a user ID
  • Then provides SSO to whatever resource
  • That user is configured for in the SecureAuth IdP

@ RSA 2013 – SecureAuth Leads with Mobile SSO, NFC Auth and Patented Authentication

Written on March 1, 2013 at 1:36 pm, by Garret

Now that was a great week!

The SecureAuth team wrapped up an amazing week @ the RSA Conference in San Francisco this week.   The team was wonderfully burdened with an unprecedented amout of meetings, booth traffic and non-stop dialogue about SecureAuth’s accomplishments in the field of access and identity management – especially around BYOD mobility.

The key (3) topics of conversation where:

1)  SecureAuth Mobile Access Management – MAM

2)  NFC Authentication   (NFC tokens -> Web/SaaS/Mobile SSO)

3)  SecureAuth PKI – solved Registration, Validation, Revocation
