High Density Data Center Solutions

Trusted leader for intelligent distributed power and cooling

Intelligent Containment Data Center

Normalize IT equipment intake air temperature to within a few degrees of the supply air temperature with this intelligent containment solution

Opengate Rack-Based and Row-Based Intelligent Containment solutions stabilize IT intake air temperature to within a few degrees of the supply air temperature at all points in your data center. This flexible data center cooling solution enables you to scale IT load without disruption and control all aspects of your cooling circuit.

Containment Cooled Data Center Benefits

Contain all the IT heat and get it back to the perimeter or central air handlers to prevent contamination of the cool supply air

Reclaim wasted cooling in retrofit aplications while IT continues to operate

Keep water outside or at the facility perimeter

Deploys quickly and cost effectively

Flexible and scalable intelligent containment system that adapts to IT load changes

Maximize Free Cooling

Maximize rack and room density with thermal stability even on slab floors

Intelligent Cooling Distribution

The following row-based intelligent containment diagram used in the Department of Energy’s DCEP (Data Center Energy Practitioner) training program demonstrates;

A) 100% of the heat is contained and returned to the permiter cooling units

B) Total return airflow is equal to server intake airflow

C) All airflow is aggregated and information delivered to the building management system or directly to the cooling unit so that the proper airflow for the data center can be supplied.

Intelligent cooling distribution allows up to 30 kW per rack and provides a perfectly controlled environment.

Quick Integration & Reporting

Deploy racks, install Intelligent Containment in minutes and quickly trim ceiling. Add racks to the row as needed. Multiple rack heights and sizes only effect Intelligent Containment position and exhaust duct length. Connect to power and system automatically operates to factory set parameters. Connect to network and simply browse to device to set-up email, SNMP and alarm thresholds.

Why Choose Opengate?

Stabilize IT intake air temperature to within a few degrees of the supply air temperature at all points in your data center

Reduce the total data center fan power and eliminate pressure on server fans for improved server fan efficiency

Adjust cooling supply to IT demand as the airflow load in the data center dynamically changes due to varying server flow rates

Companies Choosing …

Oracle, Army Corp of Engineers, AG Canada and General Dynamics are a few companies that have selected Opengate systems to automate data center cooling and maximize energy efficiency –

Opengate systems are extremely flexible allowing rapid return on investment -

Allows planners and stakeholders to keep costs at a minimum while delivering an effective and efficient facility -

Opengate systems are quickly deployed, automate the cooling circuit and provide the greatest efficiency to improve cash flow for IT operations -

Redundancy Features

Dual Input: 120-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz, IEC C14
Power Bus to Fan Cartridges:120-240 VDC Rectified
Dual Bridge: No single point of failure to Fan Cartridge
Regulation: Pressure based closed-loop PID
Override Protection: 100% fan speed fault response
System Alarms: Fan Cartridge, A/B Feed Error, External Sensor Disconnect
Environment Alarms: Cooling Limits, Temperature Limits, Humidity Limits
Network: HTTP / HTTPS / SNMP / DHCP
Regulatory: UL, cUL 60950, CE, FCC Class A

IT Equipment Versatility

Cool ultra-efficient servers which are designed closer to their thermal limits, blades and even multiple large network switches placed in racks

Automatically scale to any IT equipment type including side flow network switches

No Supplemental Cooling

Eliminate the need for supplemental cooling, allow fewer cooling units and keep water/Glycol at the perimeter of the facility

Cooling unit redundancy is applied to the entire data center space - not at the row level

Fully Compatible

One system scalable for any rack density up to 30 kW and independent of precision cooling vendor, rack vendor or management software platform

Systems are compatible and have been installed with the following; Dell, EMC, HP, Oracle Exadata, Cisco, IBM, Sun, APC racks, Eaton Foreseer, Data Aire, Stulz, Liebert, Electrorack, NER, Great Lakes, Wrightline and Chatsworth
