Edd Straw talks to Sauber designer Matt Morris about his team's narrow sidepods, the most distinctive design feature of this year's crop of Formula 1 cars

Sauber chief designer Matt Morris gestures to AUTOSPORT's dictaphone. The device recording his thoughts on the Swiss team's aggressive narrow sidepods measures 95mm x 37mm x 10mm.

"If someone gave me your recorder and said, 'Can you pop that in the sidepod somewhere?', I'd struggle to find a place for it," he quips.
