Vertical gardens flourished at the Dwell on Design show this past weekend, where the Dwell Outdoor exhibit featured several systems that can turn a plain old wall into something lush, living, and even edible. Descriptions and links after the jump.
• 1 Fytowall – A pre-grown, modular, and hydroponic vertical garden system; shown adorning the exterior of the EcoFabulous Show Home designed by Zem Joaquin and fabricated by Reclaimed Space
• 2-3 The HerbXchange – This Southern California company partners with local growers to offer pre-grown herbs in beautiful wooden frames; contact info@theherbxchange.com for details
• 4 Woolly Pocket – Made from recycled plastic bottles, these modular pockets can be filled with soil and full-size plants to create a lush, living wall; check out the video in our previous post about Woolly Pockets
• 5 Root Pouch – Another vertical gardening system with pouches made from recycled plastic bottles

What a wonderful inspiration! I have to jump on the vertical band-wagon. I have a courtyard with cadavers of broken pots everywhere thanks to my rambunctious kids. But it is surrounded by walls so.... hmmmmmm.
