What is your best souvenir? A snow globe from Terracina, a lovely seaside town one hour south of Rome.

Where and when did you get it? In 2008, at the tiny bar next to the 2nd-century B.C. Temple Anxur on the hill overlooking the town.

Is there a story about how you got it? We were given it when we ordered our cappuccini and cornetti. 

How much did it cost? A smile.

Why is it so special? The snow globe sums up exactly why we love Italy: It's serendipitous, just like snow at the beach in southern Italy.

Where do you keep it? In our niece's bedroom in Texas.
