spacer Put some MOJO in your online marketing with a combination of social media!

I was working on a video for EquineIR and a member - Infrared1st - who is an exhibitor at the Western States HorseXpo in Sacramento, CA - 10 to 12 June 2011. I noticed there was a live concert performance and contacted the singer - Tempeton Thompson - requesting a sample track of her music I could play as the soundtrack of the video. She sent two.

When I added the song Life On Planet Cowgirl to the images I was using, I realized I had created a music video, with a commercial message. Templeton's lyrics connected with the images of people in the equine industry. Since Planet Cowgirl is a location in philosophical universe, I realized she was talking to, and about, the people I was showcasing to promote the HorseXpo. This is the video. Turn up the volume and listen to the lyrics. It's unlikely you will attend the event, so imagine you are there. By the way, it's 480p resolution, the first level of HD, so you can watch it full screen. Allow it to buffer, if necessary.

I just finished a 10 day project for a festival in Southern California. The task was to develop a social media presence, if possible, on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

It was an interesting experience because all three were starting at zero. Here are the pages: Facebook | Twitter | YouTube . Facebook ended up with 190 Likes, Twitter got 19 followers and YouTube has 16 videos. Overall, 2270 links were generated for - festival national orange show - in less than 10 days.

Scroll down to see a video I'm working on for IllinoisIR, a member of the United Infrared Network. First draft is indexing very well. When you think about it, Google can only identify it as a video, not good or bad content. At least I don't think they can. Anyway, the video is made using Animoto, my go-to service for creating quick and effective video.

MOJO is an abbreviation for Mobile Journalist, i.e. one who uses AUDIO, VIDEO, BLOGS & MICRO-BLOGS to produce online content. When used in combination, the elements of a mobile journalist can create significant attention for products, services and worthwhile causes. I recently learned about WIDGETBOX, so there is another element I can add to the list.

How many elements are there? I've identified eleven. In addition to those listed above, there are online PR, article marketing, teleseminars, webinars, mobile and email marketing, which includes using an autoresponder.

A few years ago, publishing referred simply to printing books, magazines and newspapers. Today, it includes ebooks, ezines, blogs and video.

Recently, I began to focus on marketing with social media, using Wordpress and Blogger blogs, micro-blogs, such as Twitter and Cinchcast, podcasting on BlogTalkRadio and other sites, as well as producing online video.

On the next page you will see links to various elements of social media, including several widgets for BlogTalkRadio and Cinchcast. If you are not familiar with Cinchast, take a look at a tutorial I did with Camtasia - How To Use Cinchcast.

On Twitter and other social media platforms, I post information about upcoming BlogTalkRadio shows, internet marketing events, online video and other related topics on Twitter.

I'm an online marketing consultant with a travel & tourism-oriented background. Since February 2008, I've produced more than 900 shows on BTR and have nearly as many videos on YouTube and other video sharing platforms, such as Viddler, Revver, Yahoo, Metacafe and Dailymotion.

I'm sure I'm not the first person to tell you placing video on your website is an effective way to get your website indexed. Video, combined with BlogTalkRadio, as part of an aggressive social media philosophy, is even more effective.

Whether your niche is internet marketing, or one that is very localized, online marketing is essential. People search for information now via Google, Bing and Yahoo, as well as dozens of other search engines. The likelihood of someone finding your website if when they search for your particular keywords diminishes as the number of indexed pages increase.
