DuPont Pioneer president Paul Schickler discusses how we've partnered with growers on sustainable agriculture developments. He then invites to the stage Iowa farmer and Lincolnway Energy board member Jim Hill.

Steve Mirshak, business director for the DuPont cellulosic ethanol business, discusses the Nevada project and the dedication of the entire cellulosic ethanol team. 

After the guests spend some time warming up with hot coffee and brunch, the indoor portion of the groundbreaking event begins.

Jim Collins, Governor Branstad and Lt. Governor Reynolds look on as an American flag and the state  flag of Iowa are raised over the biorefinery construction site.

There is a pause in the program as Jim Collins and the other keynote speakers take questions from the media gathered at the groundbreaking event, while the guests are taken to the Nevada Community Center, where a brunch reception will be held.

Governor Branstad just declared that today is "Advanced Biofuels Day". Jim Collins returns to the stage to accept the signed proclamation. 

Lieutenant Governor of Iowa Kim Reynolds says that cellulosic ethanol will make Iowa - as well as the US - more energy independent. 

She said the Nevada cellulosic ethanol facility will create high-quality, high-skilled jobs and they will have the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) workforce ready.

Iowa Governor Terry Branstad has taken the stage, to talk about Iowa as a leading producer of biofuels. He says that in addition to growing the agriculture economy, it's creating new jobs in machinery, as well.

In Jim Collins' opening address, he discusses the important role that Iowa plays in securing the corn stover supply necessary for cellulosic ethanol production at commercial scale.

Our guests have just been seated and the program is about to begin. The stage is set against the backdrop of the construction site where the facility will be built.

On November 30, DuPont will come one step closer to commercializing advanced biofuels by breaking ground on its cellulosic ethanol facility in Nevada, Iowa. Once fully operational, this facility will supply home grown renewable fuel to the market, made from corn stover supplied by local growers.
