How is AoIR run?
AoIR is governed by a comprehensive set of bylaws (available on this site), as well as any policies / statements that might be approved from time to time. The bylaws set out the purposes of the Association and established its operational organisation – the AoIR Executive Committee.

This Committee is elected biennially by the membership and comprises a President, Vice President (who in turn becomes the President), Treasurer, Secretary, Graduate Student Representative and 3 ‘open seat’ representatives. The immediate Past President serves as a non-voting member. Also, the Executive appoints to itself two systems officers who manage AoIR’s technology and also serve on the executive.

An annual general meeting provides the primary forum for discussion of the Association’s business (held at the Conference).

Members should always contact an executive member if they have a concern, either the President or another officer if it is specific to their role (ie grad student representation issues might first be directed to the Graduate Student rep).
