Casting extras need to bring at least 3 or 4 outfits that fit the requirements of color, style, location, and time period. The director of casting extras or your agent will give you a description of the appropriate wardrobe. Having the appropriate wardrobe can increase a casting extra's chance of being moved to a good location in a scene.
Casting extras do not bring cameras to the set. If you have a camera with you and really want a photo, only use it in extras' holding and be sure to ask permission first. Casting extras do not attempt to take photos of the other actors, set, etc. Please don't bother the crew. They have work to do and shouldn't be distracted.
Casting extras should always pay attention to what is going on when they are on the set. Casting extras do not talk at all, not even a whisper, when the camera is rolling. When someone yells "pictures up," that means they are going to be shooting in the next minute and everyone, including casting extras, should be absolutely silent. Always remember that when a production is shooting at a location that there are usually businesses and regular pedestrians around. They need to conduct business as usual, so please be courteous to them and stay out of their way.
