The firm’s entertainment practice includes representing individual celebrities such as Kristi Yamaguchi, the 1992 Olympic Gold Medal skater and spokesperson, filmmakers (such as Academy Award winning producer Steven Okazaki), KGO’s Anchor Carolyn Johnson, Weekend Anchor and Reporter, Carolyn Tyler, Reporters Vic Lee, Heather Ishimaru, David Louie, and Weather Anchor Mike Nicco, KPIX Weather Anchor Lawrence Karnow, and award winning playwright Philip Kan Gotanda. In addition, the firm is counsel to the Asian American Journalists Association.

We are experienced in negotiating, reviewing and preparing television news talent contracts, celebrity/athlete endorsement deals, and standard television, public television and cable television production and licensing agreements, including contracts with HBO and the Independent Film Channel. We also have experience in representing independent film producers with respect to the formation of production companies, creation and issuance of private placement offerings to raise investment funding, and distribution agreements. We have also negotiated, reviewed and prepared copyright licensing agreements with respect to books and software.
