MISSION

Our mission is simple, a one world data standard for identifying expertise and research resources at any entity in the world, open source, and free public access.

- Working together to break the information and institutional barriers.

The Objective

As the nation and states adapt to the flattening of the world economy, the "clustering" of industry, technology and intellectual assets have become a viable mechanism for driving economic development and maintaining a competitive edge in the global marketplace. Studies have shown, the most successful clusters develop infrastructures or mechanisms to 1) speed the movement of new ideas into the marketplace, 2) know what expertise and resources exist and their geographic proximity to one another 3) allow for individuals to find each other, form partnerships and solve problems together.

The Solution

The Collaborative Partnership is a common storefront for individuals throughout academia, industry and state/federal government(s) to build relationships in the pursuit of conducting research, taking advantage of commercialization opportunities and sponsored funding. The partnership empowers individuals to know of and where expertise and resources exist. States, chambers of commerce, business incubators, and cities can build strategies to incorporate their own cluster initiatives and organize information within their own regions for easy dissemination to the public or for the economic interests of the communities they serve.

Using open source tools and simple data standards, The Collaborative Partnership can easily take new partners in without affecting their security, data, or business practices. It is a paradigm shift from the current collaboration model of a "top - down" approach to a model that is "bottom-up and lateral" for individuals to collaborate and speed the transfer of knowledge throughout the marketplace. Expertise, resources, and research information can be organized at the individual, University, University System, State and National levels as well as by geographic regions.

Some entities can join the Partnership as quickly as ONE DAY!

Using the latest open source technologies and employing (Web 2.0) superior methods, The Collaborative Partnership is a new model for easily connecting common data from entities throughout the world. There must be one place to connect the world's research, high tech and scholarly activities allowing for synergy to occur at an unprecedented scale.

Collaborative Data Dictionary

The Collaborative Data Dictionary is a data schema to define and link research resources common among institutions. The CDD is a world standard of data elements to link databases, search engines, or systems at institutions to make the Collaborative Partnership possible. NO DATA is actually transferred outside of the participating entity. Each entity maintains its' own data, business practices and security without any data being stored in the Partnership. The CDD utilizes and is compatible with the federal government's "SF 424" Core Data Elements and the Dublin Core Metadata.

Collaborative Funding Network

By utilizing daily downloads of the funding opportunities from grants.gov, the Collaborative Funding Network (CFN) provides individuals one place to find collaborators and related funding opportunities along with the ability to assign roles, post collaborations sought after and openly communicate. This ability allows experts to easily establish collaborative working groups with experts within or outside their own institution including any related resources necessary to pursue specific funding opportunities. The communication and exchange can be organized and privatized at the individual, University, University System and State levels as well as by geographic location within the state.

Collaborative Cluster Initiative

The Collaborative Cluster Initiative is a script of disciplines and keywords to organize the research endeavor into meaningful State and Federal clusters. The CCI is used to organize funding opportunities from the CFN and research resources from the CDD into meaningful State and Federal Clusters to facilitate Inter-disciplinary research.
