The physicians at the Nirschl Orthopaedic Center believe that physical rehabilitation is an integral part of a successful recovery plan, whether it is the primary treatment or follows a surgical procedure. With this in mind, our physicians work closely with our physical therapists to help design an individual exercise programs for each patient, so that optimum recovery is achieved as quickly as possible.
At NOC, we treat all types of patients, from the professional to the recreational athlete. We also treat non-athletic injuries and geriatric patients, all with compassion, care, and understanding.
NOC developed the first Sportsmedicine fellowship program in orthopedics and family practice in the Washington D.C. area. NOC works closely with the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (Military Medical School) to offer sports medicine training programs for United States Military primary care physicians. In addition, we train visiting orthopaedic surgeons from around the world on our specific surgical procedures and protocols.
The tradition of NOC quality care and innovation continues today with refined sophistication involving hip arthroscopy and new techniques in joint replacement as well as, hand and knee surgeries.
