History

FriendFinder Networks Inc., an Internet-based social networking company, resulted from Penthouse Media Group Inc.’s acquisition of Various Inc., in December 2007. Subsequently the name changed from Penthouse Media Group Inc. to FriendFinder Networks Inc.

Our flagship publication, Penthouse Magazine, was first published in 1965 in England and brought to the United States in 1969. Our predecessor company was reorganized and emerged in 2004 with renewed focus under the control of a group of private investors led by Marc H. Bell, our Chief Executive Officer and Daniel Staton, our Chairman.

We repositioned Penthouse Magazine to appeal to a wider customer base by softening its pictorial content, increased the original production and distribution of video content via worldwide broadcasting and via Internet, mobile devices and DVD sales in retail outlets, and continued to license the Penthouse brand for entertainment venues and consumer products.

With the acquisition of Various, we own and operate several of the most heavily trafficked websites in the world. These sites offer services and features that include social networking, online personals, live video chat, recorded video, online chat rooms and instant messaging, photo and video sharing, blogs, message boards, news, stories, articles, e-mail and premium content.
