Americans tend to overestimate the difficulties in composting without giving much thought to the benefits. Gardening of any kind, including house plants, is enhanced by nutrient-rich compost, and this NatureMill Atomatic Compost Machine makes indoor composting easier and tidier than ever. Feed the machine up to five pounds of organic matter per day, and it will recycle its own weight every ten days. Once waste is inserted in the machine, air intake and mixing is regulated, and odors are sealed in, with no extra work required from you. | Treehugger via Cool Hunting |

Plastic Grocery Bag Dispenser
Good for you for recycling your plastic grocery bags as small wastebasket trash bags. But storage is annoying, and keeping plastic bags in any kind of orderly fashion is a hassle. Chopstick Crib
Created by Stig Ahlstrom for Design House Stockholm, these Pick Up Sticks manage to make a tool that cheats dining protocol while maintaining a bit of dignity in design. The piece is actually more widely used than you might think, commonly utilized for serving large objects, although it’s perfect for anyone interested in getting a handle on chopsticks.

In the Bowl
It may sound like a joke to suggest that starting your day off by handling interestingly-designed objects leads to a more inspired workday. But consider how much enjoyment you’re getting out of that bowl you currently eat cereal out of every morning. This Rosendahl Grand Cru Crystal Glass Bowl Set (4 pieces) offers only the slightest diversion from convention in its rigid lines, but sometimes just a little creativity is all you need to get you going.

Reviving the Cocktail Party
This kind of thing used to make more sense a few decades ago, when having people over for cocktails merely suggested that you enjoyed the company of friends. Revive the tradition and disregard the unhealthy social connotation with this hand-blown glass Cocktail Pitcher and Stirrer. The piece will give your party a touch of sophistication and a slightly-retro sensibility, reminding guests of a time when drinking was a little more dignified and fun.

Perfect Froth
You’ve got the basic espresso maker at home, but don’t you ever get the craving for a cappuccino? Forget going out and springing for a new machine with a frothing nozzle-this Bonjour Primo Latte Frother turns milk into creamy froth in seconds. The handy device also doubles as an emulsifier, and the ergonomic design makes daily use a little less painful. | Thanks, Shari |

Garlic Crusher
If you’re not aware of the superior taste of pulverized garlic, you should probably look into it. But to those familiar with a garlic press: you’ve undoubtedly noticed how quickly a press clogs. With no holes to push the pressed garlic through, this Garlic Crusher saves you the headache of intricately cleaning the tool. Better yet, the 18/0 stainless steel tool is great for getting the smell of garlic off your hands when finished. There’s a drawback in collecting the garlic juice off your cutting board, but you can probably live with that.

Champagne Essence
Considering those champagne pliers below got us thinking about other bubbly accoutrements, and this iittala Essence glass is pretty eye-pleasing. The glass adds some welcome hard edges to the boringly traditional champagne flute, and, measuring 9 inches tall, the piece is majestic enough for a fine wine on a special occasion.

Tools Design Kitchen Utensils
Although I’ll have a hard time spending $80 on a five-piece cooking utensils kit, this Tools Design Kitchen Utensil Set does make me think twice. The form of the set is striking, held together by a simple base that unifies a stirring ladle, flexible spatula, draining spoon, and serving spoon. An additional whisk stands at the center of the set, enclosed by the other utensils like a closed flower, all at 11.5" in height and merely 3.25" in diameter. The pieces are made from heat-resistant nylon–all dishwasher-safe–and stand appealingly in contrast to the aluminum base. I imagine the set also lasts a bit longer than the wood and cheap-plastic versions I keep breaking.
