Jonathon’s Oak Cliff Is Open!
As of this morning it’s official – Jonathon’s Oak Cliff has opened in the old Beckley Brew House space at 1111 N. Beckley Avenue. Both Jonathon and Christine Erdeljac, the owners of Jonathon’s, looked excited if not a little sleepy from what was surely a late night of finishing touches on the transformed space.
The bar from Beckley Brew House remains, but with a completely different look and feel. Cabinets line the ceiling behind the bar and a stainless steel back splash gives it a crisp, clean look.
Owners Jonathon and Christine Erdeljac.
The breakfast menu was small but included steel cut oats with toasted almonds and fresh berries; a 2 egg and 2 sides breakfast; migas with turkey chorizo, corn tortillas, egg whites, cheddar cheese and pico de gallo; and breakfast tacos with bacon, egg, cheddar cheese, and pico de gallo in a flour tortilla. Pancakes, waffles and fresh fruit were also a la carte options.
Jonathon’s will be open from 7am until 10pm Tuesday through Saturday and 8am – 3pm on Sunday. Stop by and welcome them to the neighborhood – they seem like nice folks!

@Alice… there’s a good reason for that: www.gooakcliff.org/2011/03/new-restaurant-to-open-in-beckley-brewhouse-space/

umm, today i thought we would welcome them to the neighborhood and give it a try.
menu is a bit confusing, maybe you should just say “served all day” rather than letting customers become confused at what you are serving? i got the club sandwhich…wooha $10.50. it was huge and it was really tasty except for the burnt toast. i even picked off two layers of the burnt toast and the wiater never once asked us how our food was. not once! he picked up the plate with the burnt toast and never said a word.
i will let the guys who had the “amazing” burger tell you how amazing it is not. pretty dry and disappointing for another $10 plate.
some tables filled up with a couple of good friends or family of the staff, they were welcomed and taken care of but we were not.
booooo Jonathon’s….one tip. maybe the two owners could at least check on the patrons at the table cause our two different waiters were sipping coffee behind the bar. -

Alright ‘Notgonnalast’… you’re entitled to your opinion but everyone knows that reviewing a restaurant on it’s first day or two of business isn’t exactly a fair fight. Let’s give the folks a Jonathon’s the benefit of the doubt and see how things shake out over the next several weeks!

indeed, you are correct.
however, i was expected to pay full price for the meals, so i kinda expected to be taken care of while i was there. you know? -

Robshearer,
You could just say–the first few days a restaurant is open is tough. I hope you’ll give them another try in a couple of weeks.
Also, restaurant critics review restaurants during soft openings ALL THE TIME. Monica’s had press the first day, Oddfellows was reviewed, I think by GO Oak Cliff, the first day it was open for dinner. I could go on.

I actually went today and I have to say I really enjoyed the food. I had a club sandwich and my friend had the house burger medium well and both sandwiches were awesome. I think people should definitely give this place a shot and support the local oak cliff businesses. I must add the service was also great the server was very attentive and friendly. She came by several times to see how the food was and refill our beverages. I will definitely be back to try other items on there menu.

Congrratulations on a job well done! Dad and I are so proud of the hard work you two have put in to open your very own restuarant. We will be looking forward to having food prepared by the most outstanding chef and also being greeted at the door and served to by a really sweet and beautiful lady.
