Tony Schwalm, whose new memoir, The Guerilla Factory: The Making of Special Forces Officers, the Green Berets, was recently published by Free Press, is a retired lieutenant colonel with the U.S. Army Special Forces.

Author of the novel Green Freedom, recently published by Narrative, and his first novel Suzi Sinzinnati won the Editors' Book Award from the Pushcart Press. He is also the author of sixteen other books, including Atomic Love, a novella and eight stories, which was an AWP Award Series selection.
