  1. Oversees the operation of Recycling Site
  2. Contact person for Nashville Metro Solid Waste department, i.e. liaison between Excom and Metro.
  3. Recruits and schedules volunteers for site.
  4. Supplies educational materials to volunteers. iv. Provides on-site training to new recycling volunteers as needed.
  5. Reports to Excom monthly.

Group Membership Assistant - New Activist Mentor -Betsy Garber
  1. Assists the Membership Chair as needed.
  2. Prints labels from MS Word file supplied by Data Administrator, then prints and mails standard welcome letter from Membership Chair monthly.
  3. Tries to regularly attend monthly Program Meetings to assist in welcoming participants.

Group Newsletter Editor- New Activist Mentor - Open - Looking for a volunteer. Contact Betsy Garber for more information at garberb@hotmail.com
  1. Uploads MS Excel files provided by HELEN Data Administrator into online email service, Constant Contact.
  2. Sends monthly welcome emails using online newsletter service to new members.
  3. Sends monthly MTG newsletter email to all members (our email publications via Constant Contact reflect the group's conservation priorities at the local level, helps create a sense of community, and informs members about outings, meetings, and other local events).
  4. Works with group issue activist via email announcements as hot topics and events arises.

Group Treasurer - Michael Varnell
  1. Makes deposits, writes checks and maintains reconciled checkbook in MS Money
  2. Files expenses for reimbursement from MTG's national 501c3 Foundation account
  3. Provides custom saved MS Money financial reports to Excom monthly
  4. Maintains expenses within budget and assists with creation of annual budgets
  5. Responsible for completing annual financial report that goes to the Chapter Treasurer and subsequently to national finance department of Sierra Club.

Group Outings Leader - New Activist Mentor - John at 615-851-1192
  1. Become an Outings Leader, contact John for more informaitonat 615-851-1192
  2. Assists the group Outings Chair as needed
  3. Completes Outings Leader Training - Basic (OLT 101) and First Aid course to become certified.
  4. Writes announcements of planned outings and submits to newsletters for publicity
  5. Plans and leads 3 outings per year for group

  1. Oversees annual calendar sales
  2. Coordinates order of calendar
  3. Maintain Inventory & Organizes Calendar Sales Events
  4. Plans and coordinates other funding raising campaigns with the assistance of Excom
  5. Reports to Excom on annual sales.

--> Adelle Wood
  1. Plan menus and refreshments for events
  2. Recruits and schedules kitchen, server, and cleanup help
  3. Purchases food and supplies.
  4. Responsible for transport of food and supplies
  5. Supervises cooking, serving, and facility cleanup
  6. Completes recon of cash advances and/or submits reimbursement requests to Treasurer for expenses.

Group Excom Members - New Activist Mentor -Middle Tennessee Group Sierra Club & Excom Members - Keith Romig. Meetings are at 6:30 p.m. on 3rd Monday of Every Month @ 3340 Perimeter Hill Dr, Nashville, TN, 37211
  1. Understands and promotes the mission of the Sierra Club
  2. Attend Executive Committee meetings and General meetings
  3. Lead and provide educational training and/or conservation opportunities to the general membership
  4. Promote the Outings Program
  5. Participate in long range planning
  6. Actively assist in fundraising activities
  7. Ensure financial stability and solvency
  8. Modify and allocate resources; must be consistent with the opportunities, the abilities, and the commitment of the group and chapter
  9. Monitor, question, and evaluate club activities
  10. Provide Leadership and Vision within the group and chapter
  11. Contribute a sense of camaraderie and teamwork

Water Sentinel Volunteers needed - The Water Sentinel program focuses on water issues including monitoring rivers, providing public education and conducting water conservation outings. Please contact Betsy Garber (615-370-9454) if you are interested in getting involved.
