Attorney Profiles

Michele Grant, Esq., focuses her practice on serving the general legal needs of authors, filmmakers, performers, and other creative artists. She also provides entrepreneurship and legal counseling for non-profit organizations. Recent work:

  • Michele negotiated a favorable result for a freelance IT trainer, when a client hired the trainer to teach a class but then sought to retain ownership over the teaching materials that she had developed for the class. The class was a standard program that the trainer provides to multiple clients nationwide, and she would have been unable to use the materials for her business’s primary revenue stream. Michele helped the trainer keep full, exclusive ownership of the materials, and the trainer did not have to take a pay cut on the contract.

  • She successfully collected over $32,000.00 in unpaid invoices owed to a small business owner.
  • She presented a “Legal Issues for Filmmakers” seminar to film and media arts students at a local university.
  • And she co-represented, pro bono, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to victory in a landlord-tenant dispute on The People’s Court.
