Chances for Children provides hope for children in Haiti through many programs aimed at improving the lives of orphaned children and strengthening families in the communities we work.

Our first project began in 2006. Chances for Children partnered with Crèche Enfant Jesus to fund and manage a crèche in the small village of Lamerdelle, just east of Port au Prince. We also helped to fund the local school that was built in the community. For the past 5 years, this has been our main focus.

spacer In 2010, C4C opened a second orphanage located in Port au Prince and partnering with another orphanage located in Kenscoff. In 2010 we launched a second education program in Ouanaminthe.

In 2011 we expanded our outreach by adding an additional school, a church, and an economic program to empower women in the community. In 2012, we will launch a community center to provide micro-credit programs for these women, vocational training for young adults, developmental programs for youth, a community based health care clinic and a workroom for the artisan crafts project.

spacer Our community project in Kenscoff (mountain area 15 miles east of Port au Prince) is run by Pastor Renelus Maxime and his Haitian Non-Profit, International Helping Hearts.  IHH operates a church, school and orphanage and provides a home to approximately 60 children. In 2011 we completed the construction of a home for these children, who have been living in tents, since the earthquake.  We also operate a crèche (adoption center) which opened in December 2010. This is a small facility and operates as a family-style, faith based home.

For the past 6 years, Chances for Children has been caring for orphaned children and preparing them for their future lives with their new families. We can ensure immediate results, because we have partnered with teams in Haiti who have been active in their local communities for years.  To date we have had over 100 children adopted into loving homes in Canada and the United States.

The management team of Chances for Children researched a number of NGO's in Haiti before determining partner organizations. As we move forward with our other projects (see Our Mission) we will follow the same due diligence to ensure we partner with secure, financially stable, reputable and results oriented organizations in Haiti.
