‘Glee’ Season 6 premiere spoilers: Rachel’s new job, a ‘Frozen’ cover and more

Posted by Ali in Sep 03,2014 with Comments Off

Zap2It gives us some heads up on the new (and final) season of Glee!

Now that “Glee” is back in production for its sixth and final season, details about the new episodes are finally starting to leak out. For starters: What is it that brings Rachel, Blaine, Kurt Sam and more back to Lima, Ohio from their big city lives?

MJ’s Big Blog got a hold of details and song spoilers from the premiere episode, “Loser Like Me,” and Klaine fans aren’t going to be too happy about it. The biggest revelation? Kurt and Blaine, who seemed happy at the end of Season 5, broke up. When the season begins, Blaine is back home, coaching the Warblers — and dating KAROFSKY.

Rachel moves home too, and tries to re-start a glee club at McKinley, which she will lead.

As for the music, naturally the show’s resident theater diva will take on “Let it Go” from “Frozen” (which will probably sound spectacular, and was originally sung by Lea Michele’s “Glee” mom, Idina Menzel). There’ll be some more theater with a “Little Shop of Horrors” cover by Rachel and Blaine and some more contemporary tunes courtesy of the Warblers’ Ed Sheeran cover, “Sing.”

How do you feel about the Karofsky news? Are you excited to hear Lea Michele take on Adele Dazeem’s big hit?

Everything You Need to Know About the Final Season of Glee

Posted by Ali in Aug 27,2014 with Comments Off

E!Online is giving us the rundown on the sixth (and final) season of Glee and what we can expect!

Before it ends, Glee is going back to where it all began.

The Fox drama is set to wrap up its six-year run with a 13-episode final season, which will kick off at midseason, and will once again find Rachel (Lea Michele) as an underdog after failing to make it as an actress in New York. So long, Big Apple, hello, Lima!

Fox has just revealed some pretty major details about Glee’s swan song, including why Rachel is back in Ohio, who’s a series regular (and who’s not!) and who we might see return for one final goodbye.

Here’s everything you need to know about the final seasn of Glee:

1. Here’s the main cast for the final season, per Fox: Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, Darren Criss, Dot-Marie Jones, Jane Lynch, Kevin McHale Matthew Morrison, Chord Overstreet and Amber Riley. Yes, it looks like Mercedes is back with us on a full-time basis! Missing from the list is original cast member Jenna Ushkowitz.

2. Everyone is back in Lima, Ohio.

3. Rachel is the new Mr. Schuester (Morrison) as she returns to Lima after failing as a TV actress. Struggling with her next move, Rachel decides to reinstate and lead the glee club at McKinley after discovering that Sue has banished the arts at the school. (Classic Sue!)

4. While not revealed what exactly they’ll be doing, fans can expect to see Blaine (Criss), Sam (Overstreet) and Schuester all have surprising new gigs in Ohio

5. Already fretting over your favorite Glee star’s name not being in the list of season six’s main cast? Don’t worry too much, as “other alumnae” will return to McKinley, Fox assures.

6. This, of course, includes the recently-married Naya Rivera will have a reduced role as she will no longer be a series regular. But a source tells us Santana will definitely be back in some capacity.

7. In a surprising move, Max Adler is set to reprise the role of Dave Karofsky, the homophobic-bully who turned out to be gay. And in an even more surprising move, we’re hearing he will be Blaine’s love interest and is set to appear in at least four episodes. Sorry, Klaine fans!

8. Making up Rachel’s new New Directions? Five new McKinley sophomores, including twin Cheerios Mason and Madison, who are both super-positive and weird, and football stud Spencer, who is “post-Glee gay.” Rounding out the glee club will be the unconventionally pretty and drily funny Jane, who joins New Directions after she’s turned away by the Warblers, and the shy and chubby Roderic, the show’s new underdog who has a voice like Otis Redding.

Glee’s final season will air at midseason on Fox.

Lea Michele’s Sons of Anarchy Guest Role May Be More Than Just One Episode!

Posted by Ali in Aug 26,2014 with Comments Off

E!Online shares that Lea’s guest role on Sons of Anarchy might end up being more than just one episode!

Lea Michele’s one-time guest gig on the final season of Sons of Anarchy went so well, she may be back for more.
“We love her,” show director Paris Barclay told me exclusively this weekend at BAFTA’s annual pre-Emmys tea party at the SLS Hotel. “We’re trying to find a way to bring her back.”

Michele will be playing Gertie, a truck stop waitress and single mother who bonds with Gemma (Katey Segal).

Photos from the set showed Michele went through quite a make-under for the role.

“It was tough,” said Barclay, also a director on Glee. “It had to do with makeup and wardrobe. She looks a little bigger. We didn’t pad her up but she looks a little bigger than she normally does. Lighting has to do with it, too.”

And just as important, Barclay gushed, “Her acting was completely naturalistic.”

Other guest stars for the seventh and final season of Sons of Anarchy include Courtney Love, Marilyn Manson and Walton Goggins. Love will play preschool teacher Ms. Harrison. Manson will play Ron Tully, a white supremacist prison leader whom Jax (Charlie Hunnam) encounters.
The FX series’ final ride kicks off Sept. 9 at 10 p.m.

‘Glee’: Are Lea Michele and Ryan Murphy teaming for a real ‘Funny Girl’ Broadway revival?

Posted by Ali in May 09,2014 with Comments Off

Could Ryan & Lea be talking about doing Funny Girl on Broadway? Well Entertainment Weekly answers the question!

spacer

This season of Glee has seen Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) win her dream role as Fanny Brice in a Broadway revival of Funny Girl. But are Michele and series co-creator Ryan Murphy, who owns the rights to the show, planning their own real-life revival of the iconic musical? Earlier this year, Michele gave interviews saying that the pair were indeed interested in bringing Girl to the stage.

Now, Murphy is confirming those discussions. While sitting down with EW for this week’s cover on his adaptation of HBO’s The Normal Heart, Murphy revealed, “I have the rights to it. It’s something that we’re talking about. I’ve never done Broadway. I’ve always wanted to. Right now, we’re just sort of testing the waters with different people.”

But he adds that the project has a ways to go. He says, “[Lea] and I have made no mistake of our mutual love for that property, so if it could come together at a time that she’d be willing to make that commitment to go back to Broadway — which I don’t know that she is right now — it would have to be the right director and the right leading man.”

Lea Michele’s Inspiration List: The People, Places, and Things That Changed Her Life

Posted by Ali in May 07,2014 with Comments Off

Teen Vogue spoke with Lea who shared with them her Inspiration List of the things that have inspired and changed her life.

spacer Let’s be honest—we could all take a few pages out of this superstar’s book.

If we had to choose one way to describe Lea Michele (besides “funny,” “gorgeous,” and “extremely talented”), we would pick “inspirational.” Not only does she play one of the most musically dynamic characters on television, she also has an incredible outlook on life and a repeat-worthy album to boot.

But off the stage and outside the studio, the star is (somehow) even more admirable, supporting charities for everything from LGBTQ youth to homelessness, and serving as an ambassador for L’Oréal’s Women of Worth, which is all about celebrating those who make a difference in their communities through philanthropy. “I feel so blessed to have such a cool job and a great life and family,” she says, “but at the end of the day, giving back is truly what makes it all worth it.” Um, role model much?

So obviously Lea inspires us, which got us thinking: Who (and what, and where) inspires her? We asked her to share her biggest influences—and now they can be yours, too.

Favorite Songs
“Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You)’ is one of my favorite songs about strength and power. It was written by Ali Temposi who also wrote ‘On My Way’ for my record Louder.”

“‘Firework’ by Katy Perry gives me strength and makes me smile.” (You might also remember that Glee did an excellent rendition of the track.)

Favorite Female Performers
From one Teen Vogue cover girl to another, “Lorde is amazing. She writes all her own songs and they’re like poetry.”

“Sia is an incredible singer but also a fierce song writer. Her songs are so powerful, raw, and truthful.”

“I love Alanis Morisette. She’s so amazing! All of her songs are lyrically so beautiful and vocally she’s so strong.”

Favorite Movie
If you’ve ever seen an episode of Glee, this answer may not come as a surprise to you: “My favorite movie is Funny Girl. I love Barbra Streisand and her character Fanny Brice is so inspiring. She’s a woman trying to balance fame and love and she always leads with her heart which I admire. But she’s so strong and true to herself.” (How stunning does Lea look playing Fanny in a Glee episode?)

Favorite Place
“Anywhere in New York City brings me inspiration. Just walking down the street while listening to music makes me feel strong and confident.”

Favorite people
“My family and friends are such great inspiration for me all the time. I think it’s so important to surround yourself with positive strong people who motivate you and make you a better you.”

And some last advice on confidence and self-worth: “Being your true self is the best, most empowering thing you can do. Finding joy and peace within is the greatest thing and makes you feel invincible and unstoppable.”
