Nixon never quite got this acquainted with his perceived enemies.  So I think calling Obama Nixonian is unfair to Richard Nixon.  Stasian is more like it.

Good Thing Eric Holder Failed Big: 1 dead after NC grandfather fires back at trio in attempted rape of teen granddaughter.

The fatality was one of the 3 assailants.  The other 2 were also injured, as was grandpa.  When seconds count, the police are always minutes away…

World’s Smallest Violin: Holder: Gun control among biggest failures.  I don’t think I’ve ever delighted so much in anyone’s failure.

Related: We don’t have a surgeon general because Democrats made a losing bet on gun politics.  Serves them right for allowing POTUS to politicize the Surgeon General’s nomination.

MUCH GOOD THIS WILL DO: We’re Getting an Ebola Czar.  Namely Ron Klain.  And he has no public health experience.

This is a clear indication, in my arrogant opinion, that no one in the White House knows what to do either about Ebola reaching our shores or about the Center for Disease Control’s perceived impotence and incompetence in the face of related events…or about the resulting CDC (Crise de Confiance, ‘Crisis of Confidence’ in French – pardon my French, by the way)

Now, Klain used to be Chief of Staff for Fredo Biden and Al Gore.  And I will grant that this points to a decent level of skill at containing walking disasters; but goofy VP’s are not self-replicating pathogens on the scale of Ebola (but I will note that VP Biden’s gotten close to achieving self-replication.  We have been warned).

So you have to conclude Klain is way in over his head on this one.  Can a consummate Washington insider coordinate the necessary response?  Maybe only in Washington.  What about at the state level?  Not everything happens within the federal sphere of influence.

A Czar is a creature of the Executive Branch.  So his powers will be limited to enforcing executive orders.  However, there are a great many things that executive orders can’t achieve.  That’s just the way our government is set up.  But you are educated.  I don’t
