Eating Club

dessert - eating disorders - party

Last night I brought these to book club to share…

spacer

…Sammy got them for me in Canada…

spacer

…they’re amazing, of course. Other noteworthy foods of last night – Georgetown Cupcakes…

spacer

…Crunchy Cookie Chips…

spacer

…TJ’s Dark Chocolate Almonds…

spacer

…and Elemental’s Superfood Crumble – do you see a sweets theme here?

spacer

There was also lots of cheese + meat platters…

spacer

spacer

…Chicken Dumplings from Costco too!

spacer

I don’t remember who makes this kettle corn. But I ate a lot of it.

spacer

Two of our book club members are launching Healthy Batch – a site where you can buy organic/GMO-free products at affordable, discounted prices. Several of those goodies were incorporated into appetizers…

spacer

…like these gluten-free “crepes” with Rawtella + bananas…

spacer

…also dates + peanuts.

spacer

There was a salad too…

spacer

…but honestly, I didn’t eat much of it. I wound up over-filling myself on mostly sweets and cheese…actually, I’ll call it what it was – a binge – my first one in years. More on my relapse/thoughts over at Thick Dumpling Skin today.

I read your post on Thick Dumpling Skin. It (and your post here) are examples of courageous vulnerability, a term that someone once shared with me and I’m happy to pass on to you. Thank you for always being honest. When you struggle is when you help others the most. (I hope that came out right.) Hang in there! p.s. What was the book that no one read?!

Book Club Binging is the one of the most fun events every month! I know we go totally overboard, but as long as we know its just one night and we are with friends enjoying yummy foods, its okay, right? I loved seeing your glowing face last night, Lynn! XOXO

Your TDS post hit far too close to home. But it’s true, your courageous vulnerability does give others who are struggling comfort in the fact that they are not alone in that ugly rabbit hole…

I woke up to some rare winter sunshine in Vancouver today. Here’s hoping it’s a sign of a brighter day in every capacity!

Thank you for your willingness to share spacer

binge’s happen and it was a one-off, in general you live a healthy liftstyle, balance is the most important anyway spacer easier to be said then to actually believe, trust me I know that, however, sometimes it is nice to hear the reminder. x

I had to read this and your TDS post again today. I have felt similar emotions lately and it makes me angry at myself, furious really because you want to feel like you are past it, and then stress, for me…change…catapults me back to a place where I feel lack of control. Then I want to control something and that something is my eating. Thank you for being brave enough to put yourself out there. It is comforting and gives me hope that yes, this is a bump, but it gets better.
