Overcomers Network launches Coming Out Delivered Project

Share

spacer

The Overcomers Network, founded by Pastor DL Foster in 2010 as a discipleship empowerment organization for EXLGBT Christians, celebrates the goodness and mercy of God with the Coming Out Delivered project.

The project, featuring members of the Network, is intended to counteract all the negative images of exhomosexuals in the media, by breaking the silence and refusing to be invisible in a time when there exists doubt about the reality of change and transformation.

“Our faces, our smiles, our lives, our families and our stories of freedom are real. And so is the God who gave us this freedoml!”, said Pastor DL Foster.

The Overcomers Network’s membership is open to all former homosexuals, lesbians, transgenders, bisexuals and their spouses regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, location, social status or denominational association.

Born gay or Born again?

spacer BORN GAY OR BORN AGAIN?

The argument as to whether some people are “born gay” has for too long hindered the church’s priority mission of facilitating redemption from sin. We’ve come to the place where it should be put to rest so that there are no barriers to introducing Jesus to broken people.

Big Picture Theology

Are people born gay? Yes, they are. All people are born with a spectrum of sinful proclivities that later develop into sinful behaviors. No one is born into this world untouched by the poison of sin. Its in every beautiful child’s spiritual dna, undetectable by human machines, technology or scientific research. Homosexuality is simply one of those sinful conditions. We do not punish or blame people for sinful dna because we ALL have it. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

While we are born in sin, we were not created in sin. Birth comes through human channels while creation was the work wrought solely by the hands of God. Thus man was created holy and blameless, in the image and likeness of God. Homosexuality was not present in the spiritual dna of our human foreparents. It entered in only when our foreparents sinned against the goodness of God and thus every person born thereafter would automatically receive this broken inheritance.

New Birth Changes Everything
Because we are born in sin and iniquity, God provided a fullproof way that every person who believed could escape sin and its ultimate payoff: death. His Son Jesus is that way, the only way any person can ever hope to experience a new life free from the curse of their birth condition. For those who desire relationship with God both here and now, being born again is not an option it is an unconditional requirement. Encased within that inescapable requirement, is a simple prerequisite. All you have to do is believe.

God’s love is so deep for humanity and his mercy so pervasive, his response to those who believe is to fully recreate them in his image and likeness. He restores them to original holiness as “new creations” where the old birth condition is erased and a new life begins.

If you are struggling with homosexuality or believe that you were born gay in a condition with no possible hope of change, settle the questions, doubts and insecurities once and for all. Believe Jesus came to show you God’s love by taking your place on the cross. Ask God to forgive you of all your sins and accept that he will abundantly pardon you.

As he promised he would, you will experience that supernatural change that millions have before you. Seek to know your God and his way through his Word. Witness Ministries can help you understand how to maintain and overcome challenges to your new identity. Contact us and let us know you’re ready to live BORN AGAIN!

Gay christian theologists avoiding debate challenges

Share

spacer Where have all the gay theologians gone?

That’s the question Dr. Michael Brown is asking in his latest commentary on BarbedWire.  The MIA phenom among religious gay activists is something GCMW has noticed as well.

If you believe you are on the side of truth, you need not be insecure.

Then why are “gay Christian” activists and theologians so unwilling to debate the issues publicly? Why do they consistently refuse public dialogue, especially when those who want to dialogue with them are committed to doing so with civility and grace?

Bear in mind that they are writing books, preaching messages, using social media, and holding conferences, all with the goal of actively challenging the views of conservative followers of Jesus, seeking to overturn the Word and 2,000 years of consistent Church tradition. Yet at the same time, when openly invited to debate their controversial new viewpoints, they grow silent. Why?”

We’ve seen them pop up and down almost like jack in the boxes as if they are afraid their shallow logic and superficial religious platitudes cannot stand the white hot scrutiny of the truth. In fact, one of the tainted fathers of the gay christian movement, pointedly told them “don’t discuss the bible”. Mel White told attendees at a Soulforce conference to opt out of discussions about the bible with “Conservative Christians”. Writes Karen Keen:

“After debriefing the “chalk-talk” experience, we are sent off to our first workshop. I decide to attend, “What the Bible Says and Doesn’t Say About Homosexuality” presented by Rev. Nancy Wilson and Rev. Dr. Mel White. Mel White is a passionate and articulate man who makes it clear from the beginning of the workshop that he has absolutely no desire whatsoever to discuss the biblical passages on homosexuality. Over the years he has suffered a barrage of debates on the issue and he is thoroughly burnt out. He refuses to engage in the discussion any longer. Instead, he passes out a booklet he has written on the subject and tells us to read it. Then, he encourages us to refrain from discussing the Bible with conservative Christians because fundamentalists have no interest in sincere dialogue. Mel also encourages us not to engage in the debate for another reason. By having the conversation, we expose ourselves over and over again to the “lie” that homosexuality is wrong, and when heard repeatedly, “deep down inside you will wonder if they are right.”

We’ve pointed out numerous times how the cookie cutter style comments of gay christians are devoid of scripture. While we believe that extra-biblical resources are welcome compliments to scriptural enlightenment, the line of acceptance is drawn when any resource conflicts with clear foundational teachings of the Bible. With that being said, and despite our critics charge of “bible worship”, even the average Christian accepts that the Bible is our blueprint, our “magna carta”. Therefore, Christians fully assimilate its language, concepts and principles into our vocabulary and more importantly how we live. But we don’t find this bond with God’s Word when it comes to the gay christian movement. But don’t be surprised, this is no mere coincidence.

Karen Keen who attended the event noted the bizarre interpretations gay christian leaders made about the scriptures. At the same event Nancy Elder, chief of the Metropolitan Community Church said the magi or three wise men were homosexuals and that its okay to use one’s “imagination” when reading and interpreting the Bible.

After pressuring him for a reason for an agreement to debate,  Matthew Vines, the gay christian movement’s false teacher du jour, finally told Dr. James White why he was putting debates with opposing Christians on the skids:

“I am happy to do dialogues, debates, etc., with anyone when I feel that the event is likely to be constructive, respectful, and relationship-building. I did a ‘debate’ with Michael Brown this summer that was largely a waste of time, because Brown is not interested in listening to and learning from LGBT people, only pontificating about them.”

Its important to note Matthew Vines has been crisscrossing the country proclaiming his readiness to challenge the church’s teachings. But when the challenge confronts him, we find out he doesn’t like it when people won’t “learn from him”.

John Burton outlines a biblically strategic war plan on homosexuality

Share

spacer Using parallels with the people who built the tower of Babel, noted revivalist John Burton of Detroit reveals in Charisma Magazine a brutally honest portrait of the homosexual movement’s social agenda along with nine “prophetic keys” that can restrain its power.  If you’re sick of the Osteenish type of equivocation , read on and equip yourself.

We agree with Pastor Burton: we are at war! Too many Christians still fail to see homosexuality and its destructive agenda as the foremost threat to the spiritual health and welfare of the church. That ignorance works to the advantage of the church’s enemies.  Because the church is the last line of defense against this agenda’s insatiable lust for dominance, multiple strategies have been launched to break those defenses.

Its important for faithful Christians opposed to the homosexual agenda to know its not our charge to eradicate sin of any kind. We need not fret ourselves over laws passed. Remember they passed laws against Daniel, and it looked like his opponents had won a great victory over his refusal to obey the unjust law. But we all know how that turned out. Our responsibility is to restrain and restrict sin’s  growth and influence. We accomplish this by being what Jesus identified as “salt and light” in Matthew 5:13-16.  Such sin retardants have profound affect on the greater good. Unrestrained sin with no Christians is like a forest fire with no firefighters.

Burton shares insight and a harder strategic response needed in this season. “God opened up a powerful strategy to disrupt the momentum of the homosexual agenda to me—and a successful campaign will result in innumerable people set free.”, he says.

Barton believes this strategy will set people free if the church can unify around it. That may be the most difficult part of the strategy is unity. Our unity was the first defense attacked and it has not yet recovered. There is a growing schism —a spiritual civil war if you will— on the issue of homosexuality and its parent problem the authority and credibility of  scripture.

The agenda of the gay movement is patently deceptive because the spirit controlling it is deceptive. Deception is primarily a spiritual issue which must be fought with spiritual weapons.

“The gay agenda is driven by a spirit. We must keep this in mind. Of course, we don’t wrestle with people. We wrestle with unholy spirits. But it’s true that many people are in alliance with those very spirits we are battling, so it’s unfortunately common for there to be collateral damage. Don’t mistake that collateral damage with fighting against flesh and blood. When we deal with evil spirits, those who renounce them will be set free, while those who embrace them will experience their judgment.”

In the conspiracy, Burton has also spotted the  gay christian movement. Its role as favored religious aberration by the political homosexual movement is unmistakable.

When they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens… Gen.11:4a

The goal then was to take dominion, and that’s the goal now. The city represents the plan to spread horizontally around the world—to see homosexuality become not only accepted, but the primary leader of humanity. This spirit doesn’t simply want to be affirmed—it wants to dominate. The tower represents a connection with heaven. The “gay Christian” movement is moving at the speed of light—and even the most biblically sound arguments against it are not convincing those who are seduced by this spirit. The unity is too strong, and the response of the church has been too weak. This simultaneous horizontal and vertical advance of the homosexual movement is brilliant, though not original. We saw it at Babel, and we’ll see it again at the end of the age.

Some Christians ad social conservatives are already conceding that social issues such as homosexual marriage, like abortion, will eventually become the law of the land. When it occurs that doesn’t mean the fight has been lost but rather that ultimate victory is nearer than we may imagine. According to Jesus, the widespread proliferation of perversion is not a victory for its supporters, its
