Many traditional animal shelter photos…er, lack panache.  It’s difficult to photograph squirming dogs, irked cats, and high-energy kittens, and the conditions in a rescue generally aren’t great for photography: bad lightning, fast-moving subjects, and cluttered backgrounds.  Pictures taken under these conditions may not always be able to convey the best aspects of the subject, which is unfortunate, as the photographs are often the animal’s primary hope for convincing someone out there that they’ve found their new best friend.

I’m determined to change that, for as many animals as I can.

Every animal deserves the best possible chance at finding a forever home.  I’d like to help them along by providing high-quality, intimate portraits which help to highlight individual personalities, and bring out the wonderful qualities each critter has inside.

I started off as a part-time staff photographer at the Paris Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).  I have since moved to Florida!  I am available for any rescue, shelter, or adoption center within driving distance of Orlando, Florida — I am happy to donate my services in exchange for expanding my portfolio of animal portraits.

I have more than 10 years’ experience training and photographing animals of all sorts.  My animal photography experience comes from wolf photographer Monty Sloan, founder of wolfphotography.com.  My behavior experience comes from Wolf Park, a pioneer in the handling and training of socialized animals.  I also do web and graphic design, social media, publications, and marketing.
