Pens Made From Recycled Cartridges
Ever wondered what your recycled inkjet cartridges are turned into? Well thanks to some determination and innovative work by our materials recovery partner - Close the Loop®, you can now purchase recycled content felt tip pens made from post consumer inkjet cartridges recycled through the ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' program.
While some printer cartridges are returned to their original manufacturers for remanufacturing and component recovery, the rest are processed through one of Close the Loop's two ‘Green Machines'. These marvelous machines separately shred and crush the cartridges, then separate the inks and toners, plastics, metals and other materials that can then be made into a range of new products. One of these new products is now the felt tip pen!
Called the EnvirolinerTM, this is a brand new pen that tells a great story. From the barrel to the cap, even the ink used in this pen is made from discarded inkjet printer cartridges. Over 90% of this pen is made from post consumer recycled materials and over time, Close the Loop hopes to make this figure 100%. And just in case you're still not convinced of its environmental benefits, at the end of its life this pen is fully recyclable in the ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' boxes!
The pens can be purchased in a range of quantities for corporate or personal use with your company branding printed on them. You can also get rulers, with your company branding, mad from the plastics recovered by cartridge recycling.
