Front Page Edition of All Things Considered

Monday through Friday from 4-5 p.m.

The “Front Page Edition of All Things Considered” is a locally-produced program through the combined operation of WUFT and WRUF. This is our home for in-depth news stories, serious and light features produced a la NPR, as well as longer interviews, both live and recorded. The program is a true magazine format show, which blends local, regional and state news into one hour. We also tackle the top national and world stories with a local twist, interviewing many experts and others from north central Florida.

This Spanish-language student-produced program includes local, state, national, and international news; sports; weather; community calendar segment; and an in-depth interview segment on topics ranging from politics, health, education, and safety issues, to social issues that more directly impact the Hispanic community, such as immigration, citizenship, community services, or various cultural topics.

This live program features traditional soul, R&B, doo-wop, funk, disco, and much more. The two-hour journey includes music from the mid-40s through the mid-70s complete with historical tidbits on the artists and their music.

From the bandstand to the ballroom to your living room, it’s the music that shaped a generation (or two). Ballads and Blues features a blend of big band, jazz, and vintage vocal and instrumental pop from the “Your Hit Parade”-era and beyond. Plus music from the great American songbook, performed by artists ranging from Rosemary Clooney to Perry Como, Glenn Miller to Johnny Mathis, and Stan Getz to Frank Sinatra.

Animal Airwaves

Airs Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

A call-in radio show featuring experts from the UF Veterinary Hospitals speaking on a variety of animal health-related topics. The show, hosted by Dana Hill of WUFT, features UF faculty clinicians, who speak about common veterinary problems in their area of expertise. Listeners can call in to 352-392-8989 with questions related to the topic being discussed.

WUFT-FM launches Spanish language programming service on 89.1 HD 5.3 April 11

University of Florida public radio station WUFT-FM 89.1 began broadcasting Spanish language programming on the 89.1 HD3 channel on Monday, April 11. WUFT Ahora features news, public affairs and variety programming, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Within the next 60-90 days, WUFT Ahora will also include Spanish language newscasts produced by University of Florida College of Journalism and Communication students. The inclusion of these local Spanish student newscasts throughout the day on a 24-hour Spanish-language radio station is a unique service and distinguishes the University of Florida and WUFT-FM from other colleges of journalism and large universities in America.
