Our Christian School Background

In the Fall of 1972 the Killian Hill Baptist Church started Killian Hill Kindergarten with a total of 15 students in two classes and 2 teachers.  The Church furnished the facilities and also paid the utilities.

In 1973 the K-3 and K-4 were added.  The K-4 was three days a week, and the K-3 was two days a week.  We had Kindergarten for 4 years before the school began.

In 1974 the pastor, Dr. John Kent, made plans to start the elementary classes with David Purvis as Principal.  Mr. Purvis and the men of the church worked hard to prepare the building to open in the fall of 1976.  The school opened with Kindergarten 3, 4, 5, and 1st through 3rd grades.

Each year after that the school continued to grow and added classes, staff, secretaries, administrators and buildings as they were needed.  We reached a point that we had to make the commitment to the parents that we had then to add the High School.  The first senior class graduated in 1986 with 14 students.  The school is now housed on 26 acres with over 70,000 square foot of classroom and building space. The enrollment has grown to over 500 students.
