Winter Break Camps

Register Now - Don't miss out on the fun!

This winter we will again be hosting Winter Break Camps for both youth and teens. Get out of the house, make new friends and have fun! Registration is already open. Please note there will be no camp on Thursday, January 1, 2015.  To register click here.

Youth -  Monday - Friday, December 29 - January 2;  9:00 am - 4:00 pm (Before Care and After Care available)

Teens - Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, December 29 - December 31; 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

 

Winter Basketball and Futsal Registration Underway

Its that time again!

Registration is underway for TPRD's 2015 Winter Basketball League and also the Futsal League. Both leagues has a limited number of spaces and always fill. And as of the end of October, we are more than half way full!  Register online or in person now.

Our Winter Basketball League is for Grades K -8  and games are held on Saturdays starting in January.  Practice times are determined by the coaches.

Our Futsal League is for Grades 2 - 4 and games are on Sundays at the Takoma Park Recreation Center (7315 New Hampshire Ave.)

New 55+ Classes offered!

The Recreation Department has partnered with Montgomery College to offer three new classes this fall! How To Paint Like An Impressionist started in October. Marc Chagall, Dance of Imagination started is scheduled to start November 5.  Class registration is done through Montgomery College Workforce and Continuing Education.

Also NEW active classes are at the Recreation Center on New Hampshire Ave.! The center is now open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. for 55+ active programming!  Register for Self Defense, Walking Club, Tennis for Fun and Fitness, Table Tennis, Drop-in Walking Club and Fitness Room Orientation. Check out the Takoma Park City Guide! 

It has all of our normal class offerings plus lots of great information from other City departments!  It was delivered in the August TP Newsletter. Registration for Recreation Department classes started Friday, August 15! Don't miss out! See pages 17 - 37 for Recreation Department fall classes.

We are working on Winter 2015 classes now.  Look for the Winter 2015 City Guide in the December TP Newsletter. Registration for Winter classes (Jan - March) starts Monday, December 15, 2014.

Childcare Programs (School Year 2014-2015)

There is still openings in our After the Bell program at the Recreation Center

Register now for our child care programs for the 2014- 2015 school year. Emphasis is on providing leisure and recreation programs utilizing our facilities while having lots of fun! There is a 20% deposit due at the time of registration. The remaining balance will be divided into monthly payments.

Morning and Afternoon Addition are offered at the Community Center (Maple Ave).  Both are currently full but accepting waiting lists.

After the Bell is offered at the Recreation Center (New Hampshire Ave)
