Posted in Stories, 2012-08-23
Penn State has announced it will host a national conference on child sexual abuse at the end of October. The event is entitled “Traumatic Impact, Prevention, and Intervention.” WPSU’s Emily Reddy talked with Kate Staley, a researcher in Penn State's Justice Center for Research and the co-organizer of the conference. Kudos for Dr Staley and NPR for providing this information regarding the conference on ‘child sexual abuse’. Excellent presentation, being both comprehensive and succinct. I don’t know if this is only a local presentation in the State College region, but I do hope it gets nation-wide exposure, because child sexual abuse, as Dr. Staley notes, is a national problem, under addressed and poorly understood.
