Richard Hay
Owner and Webmaster
WindowsObserver.com

I served for 29 plus years in the U.S. Navy and retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer in November 2011. My work background in the Navy was telecommunications related so my hobby of computers fit well in what I did for the Navy. I consider myself a tech geek and enjoy most things in that arena.

My first website – AnotherWin95.com – came online in 1995. Back then I used GeoCities Web Hosting for it and WindowsObserver.com is the result of the work I have done on this site since 1995.

In January 2010 my community contributions were recognized by Microsoft when I received my first Most Valuable Professional (MVP) Award for the Windows Operating System. Since then I have been renewed in the Microsoft MVP Windows Expert-Consumer category each year on January 1st.

I host the Observed Tech PODCAST which is a weekly look at all things tech with a decidedly Microsoft angle however, all subjects are discussed including security, social media, hardware, software and anything tech-ish!

My other area of passion is space, as in Low Earth Orbit and Outer. I have attended four official #NASATweetup #NASASocial events as well as many unofficial gatherings related to our Space Program.

I am also an amateur photographer learning my way around my second DSLR camera – a Nikon D5100.

My wife and I are avid Harley Davidson fans and we put miles on a 2007 Ultra Classic every chance we get.
