The Garden
We believe that, since we have the room for it, we might as well grow as much stuff as possible so that with the help of canning and freezing, we’ll get through the year until the following summer, when we can eat fresh vegetables again. In the summer of 2008, we are growing: soybeans, green beans, okra, blackeyed peas, navy beans, cucumbers, tomatoes (Roma, Celebrity and cherry), peppers, eggplants, corn, potatoes, and sweet potatoes.
In the Fall of 2008, we plan to grow: collards, turnips, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale, spinach, and pumpkins.
We also have peach, apple, nectarine, and plum trees.
