Protests of Glock Gun Manufacturers

February 9, 2013

This week a group of protesters assembled outside the Glock headquarters in Smyrna, Georgia. They stated that they wanted to meet with the executives from Glock. They claimed that they weren’t targeting just Glock, but they wanted all gun manufacturers, especially handgun manufacturers to take responsibility for their actions.

Glock had no response and didn’t meet with the protesters, and why would they? Meeting with them would be a lose, lose situation. The protesters aren’t really sincere about having a sensible conversation about what manufacturers can do to stop guns from “flooding” communities with guns because they know it’s not the manufacturers who “might” be flooding the communities. If Glock does anything or promises anything to the protesters they risk alienating their customers. Then if Glock doesn’t make any concessions to the protesters then the protesters will exploit that for their agenda. The best possible action for Glock would be to simply ignore them, especially considering the statements made by the protesters.

The anti-gun activist Rev. Markel Hutchins said, “Glock and this industry makes millions and millions of dollars because they intentionally flood communities with these handguns and we are saying enough is enough.”

The anti-gun activist Rev. Timothy McDonald said, “The blood of our children is running in our streets.”

What a way to make a point! Communities flooded with handguns and our children’s blood running in the streets! According to their statements, the gun manufacturers are dumping guns or “pushing” guns like drug dealers on every street corner, so that they can flood our streets and communities with guns. How ridiculous is that? Besides, how much do you want to bet most of these protesters own handguns? If they don’t then I’ll bet you that they have people around them who do. I wonder, who forced the guns on the protesters?

The statement that “The blood of our children is running in our streets” is so ludicrous that it should be ignored for its obvious ignorance. The statement was made just to give the appearance that there is an epidemic in America where children are dying from gunshot wounds. The stats aren’t in yet on this regarding  2012, but in 2011 the FBI reported that only 565 children under the age of 18 were murdered with a gun. The CDC reported some 870 other children died by guns other than by homicide in 2011. That is hardly blood running in the streets. That is why I won’t waste more of my time or your time with this ignorant stupidity.

Let us continue the discussion about guns flooding our communities.  I have to ask, why do honest people buy guns? They buy guns for protection against unmoral people who might have a gun and might plan to harm them in some way. Do the manufacturers force anyone to buy a gun? Of course they don’t! So how do they flood communities with guns? If there really was a flood of guns in a community it isn’t because of any gun manufacturer, but because there was a deep desire for protection. That is unless you are talking about a community of gangs where all the guns are owned by thugs and criminals. However, those criminally owned guns probably were acquired illegally not from a gun manufacturer, distributor or dealer.

Gun manufacturers had nothing to do with distributing the guns to individuals, and they especially have nothing to do with distributing them within other communities. Gun manufacturers have very little to do with who buys their guns, unless of course it is a government buyer or bulk purchaser. I seriously doubt that communities are buying their guns in bulk. Glock can’t control who buys their guns and where they go, but yet that doesn’t matter to the protesters. It’s not like they have salesmen selling guns out of a car trunk all across America.

That brings to mind the question, exactly what constitutes a flood of guns? Since only 30-50% of households own guns, how can we be flooded with guns? It is divisive and dishonest to make such a statement. You would think that it was the old west with everyone walking around with a six shooter on their hip.

If guns are flooding our communities, don’t blame the manufacturers, blame Obama and his anti-gun actions. There are a lot of people who owns guns and there always have been, but guns have never before sold in the numbers that they are now. That isn’t because manufacturers have stepped up marketing or because of any action they have taken. It is 100% because of the threat to our Second Amendment rights. Why would anyone blame gun manufacturers for the fact that people want to buy their guns, especially when the whole reason for purchasing more weapons is because of fear of their government?spacer

The protesters seem to think that since gun manufacturers are making a product that kills people, then that should make them responsible for the killings. When are these people going to use their heads for something other than a hat rack? Guns are less likely to be involved in someone’s death than an automobile. But no one wants to make automobile manufacturers responsible for  automobile deaths, why is that? It is obvious because they know that automobiles don’t kill people, drivers do. It would be lunacy to go after automobile manufacturers because of reckless or even homicidal actions of the drivers. So why go after gun manufacturers for reckless or homicidal actions of shooters? Why, because they don’t want you or I to have guns. They want you to depend on your government for your protection. They will do anything to take guns out of our hands even if it means closing the doors on every gun manufacturer in the world.

It is apparent that all of this is really about making you more dependent on your government and less self-sufficient. That is the agenda behind the anti-gun movement. It is all part of the socialization of America. Every time they gain ground by taking away any part of our rights, we become that much closer to becoming slaves to the government. This is just another socialist link in the chain that is working its way around our neck.

It is time that we break that chain and time to send the socialists packing. When someone asks you if you are an advocate for the Second Amendment or if you are an advocate for guns, tell them yes you are. But don’t stop there, tell them it is your right to bear arms and it is in the best interest of all Americans to do so. Tell them over and over again that guns don’t kill people and banning guns does not save lives. Tell them that banning guns only kills more people because the lack of guns only makes more vulnerable victims for criminals to victimize. Speak out for your rights, especially your right to bear arms. Never let these socialists have the last word.
