inkscrawl features short speculative poetry of ten lines or fewer. Our definition of “speculative” is amorphous: we’ll know it when we see it. Elements and tropes of fantasy, science fiction, myth, folklore, fairy tales, and magic realism are welcome.

Short poetry includes haiku, tanka, triolet and cinquain, but we are interested in seeing all kinds of poems 10 lines and under, regardless of form.

Issue 8 of inkscrawl will be edited by Samantha Henderson. The liminal is time and a place between, where stands the initiate, the trickster, one who encompasses many, or is between states. Or, as in the theme of issue 6 — the journey — the liminal is what you say it is. Send me your between‐places. We’ll be reading through August 31st for October publication. See you on the other side.

Please send no more than FIVE poems per batch, to poetry at inkscrawl dot net. Payment for accepted poems is $3.
