  • Note to those who loved the series finale of How I Met Your Mother: Neil Patrick Harris is in your corner!

In an interview with David Letterman on The Late Show, airing tonight, the actor told the host that even though there was a fan outcry over the series finale — which ended with Ted (Josh Radnor) getting back together with Robin (Cobie Smulders) after the death of the titular Mother (Cristin Milioti) — he was “a big fan” of it.

“It wasn’t necessarily the happy ending that people were expecting,” said Harris, who’s currently starring in Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway. “But Carter [Bays] and Craig [Thomas], who were once writers on your show and the executive producers and creators, knew this ending years ago and had played towards that. And I was a big proponent of it and a big fan of it.” READ FULL STORY

In a world where cutting to black (The Sopranos) or sending your characters to prison (Seinfeld) passes for a series finale, How I Met Your Mother‘s ender was decidedly bittersweet but complete. While some critics have harshed on this season, the CBS sitcom did a terrific job of tying up all sorts of loose ends (The Mother has a name! The cockamouse lives!) — except one, that is. As history’s longest family meeting draws to an end, and Josh Radnor begins his final transformation into Bob Saget, the cast of How I Met Your Mother is preparing for their ninth and last season to draw to a close Monday night with the airing of the show’s series finale. For his part, Neil Patrick Harris plans to raise a toast to the sitcom and the character he played in more than 200 episodes.

“I’ll be doing a preview performance of Hedwig and the Angry Inch [on Broadway], so I think I’ll be probably watching it with my feet in an ice bath,” the actor told EW. “But I’ll definitely have at least a couple fingers of scotch in my hand to see Mr. Barney Stinson and the gang off.”

The most legen—wait for it—dary event in TV history airs tonight with the hour-long finale of How I Met You Mother (CBS, 8 pm). The cast has been incredibly tight-lipped about how the CBS sitcom will end after nine seasons, but we did get a few clues from Josh Radnor, who plays Ted Mosby.

“It’s probably the most far reaching finale in terms of years it covers,” Radnor said in an interview on Entertainment Weekly Radio on SiriusXM. “We go from 2005 to 2030 or 2035. It’s a 30-year voyage all over time and space with these characters.” READ FULL STORY

Fans may not know much about afterwards, but it appears Barney and Robin do in fact make it to the altar.

CBS has released a few photos from the March 24 episode, and one of the photos shows Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) and Robin (Cobie Smulders) all dressed up at the altar. (And doesn’t Robin look pretty?) The official episode description for “The End of the Aisle”: “With only a half-hour to go, both Barney and Robin have panic attacks about their upcoming nuptials. Meanwhile, Marshall and Lily rewrite their old wedding vows.” Does this mean we might get a flashback to when Marshall shaved his head?

Other photos give fans a few more clues as to what might be in store for viewers over the last moments of the show — including Patrice as a bridesmaid?! Check them out below: READ FULL STORY
