All times & days UT; all frequencies kHz unless otherwise noted. Subtract 5 hours from UT for CDT. W.O.R. is a listener-supported, public-service program about communications around the world, especially, but not limited to, Shortwave Broadcasting.
ANOMALY ALERTS and WHAT'S NEW -- please check every time you're here!! As of Nov 7, WOR will be on Global 24 via WRMI 9395 UT Fridays at 0030; other times monitored so far but not necessarily permanent: Sat 1001, Mon 2201, Wed 0503, Wed 1415, Wed 2201. As of Nov 2, times via most US stations shift one UT hour later. Another new airing on WRMI is Sundays at 1000 on 5850, aimed 355 degrees toward Cleveland and Singapore. As of Oct 5, new airing on WRMI 11580 is Sundays at 2300. These and 2130 Fridays on 7570 and 15770 will stay at same UT and same frequencies. Also as of Oct 5, all WRMI broadcasts will be the latest edition. The UT Sun 0100 on 5950 is canceled. As of Sept 25, the Thu 2330 airing on WRMI 11580 is canceled, replaced by daily relays of R. Ukraine International. From Aug 11, WRMI changes: New Friday 2130 on 7570 (only frequency across N America) & 15770 (but probably repeats previous show). From WOR 1730, podcasts also also available via Shortwave.am. Podcasts also available via TUNEIN.com. From July 13, NEW station and new time: KVOH 9975, UT Sundays 0131; tnx to Ray Robinson! Because: The Sat 2330 airing on WTWW-2, 9930, did not appear June 21 or 28 or July 5; nor did the other WTWW airings July 3, 6: Ted Randall abruptly cancelled WOR without notice also on WTWW-1. Our gratitude to George McClintock, who invited us on WTWW from its early days until now. From July 7, WRMI added another broadcast, Mondays 2100 on 15770, NE toward Europe, also good for east coast North America, but joining late or not at all until success July 28. From June, all WOR broadcasts on WRMI 9955 are on the SSE beam, not NW. Back on WBCQ 7490v: From May 21, Thursdays at 2100 and following Wednesday at 2100. But May 22, 29 replayed previous rather than new show. On June 5, new show aired promptly. WTWW-2 had been mostly off in May, so lacking Sat 2330 on 9930; resumed May 24. On May 1, WTWW-3 12105 carried WOR at 0530 & 1530 Thursday, one-time event. From April 23, Wednesday time on WRMI 9955 northwest changed from 1300 to 1315 UT. From March 24, WWRB on 5050 instead of 3195, but check both at WOR time. DST shifts went into effect Sunday March 9. Our SW broadcasts from USA shifted one UT hour earlier, mostly on same frequencies. Now updated here. From January 23, 2014, PODCASTS are again available as above. From January 29, additional time on WRMI 9955: Wednesdays 1400. Unlike all the other WRMI airings, this one is on the NW antenna across North America; but will normally be a repeat of the previous week`s show. On January 4-5, additional airings on WRMI, but not necessarily to continue: Sat 2130 on 7730 [ran for two weeks only], UT Sun 0030 on 9495. From January 6, new WOR time on Area 51 WBCQ, UT Monday 0400v on 5110v-CUSB. New time on WRMI 9955 from Dec 19: Thursday 1330 UT, still on SSE antenna but should be well audible in North America. WRMI webcast link has changed. Podcasts from WRN are no longer be available from December 16, 2013. We are considering alternatives if there is enough demand. From December 1, WRMI uses the former WYFR transmitters, which should result in improved reception altho still aimed southward at WOR times, and the 1600 Saturday broadcast is dropped after Nov 30. Times on US stations shifted one UT hour later from November 3. For B-13, WWRB returned to 3195, but sometimes also employs 5050, even in USB. In August, WTWW-2 expanded Brother Scare hours greatly, over entire 9930/5085 --- except for Saturday evenings including WOR at 2327v on 9930, now UT Sunday 0030 on 5085. From April 25, SiriusXM dropped WRN and WOR from Channel 120. Added a new outlet February 10, 2013: KFKB, 1490, Forks, Washington, Sundays at 3 am PST/PDT, now 1000 UT. WBCQ canceled our only 7490 time as of Feb 23, 2012 and from March 1 replaced by 0200v UT Saturdays on 5110v-CUSB.

Via direct-to-home satellite: To Europe In the United Kingdom and Ireland, WRN EuroMax English is broadcast on SKYdigital channel 872 on Astra 2 at 28 degrees East. For the rest of Europe WRN EuroMax English can be heard on Eutelsat Hotbird 5, 13 degrees East, Transponder 94, 12.597 GHz, Vertical, Symbol Rate 27.500 Mbaud, FEC 3/4, MPEG2 DVB Audio Stream. Select WRN EuroMax English from audio menu. WRN is also available on many cable sytems in the UK and across Europe. World of Radio is heard on Saturday at 0900 UT = 1000 CET.
To Africa WRN1 can be received on WorldSpace AfriStar on channel 627. Additionally, WRN1 may be received throughout Africa and the Middle East via satellite on Intelsat 707 at 1 degree West. World of Radio is heard on Sunday at 1400 UT.
To Asia & Pacific WRN1 can be received on WorldSpace AsiaStar. Additionally, WRN1 may be received throughout Asia and the Pacific via satellite on AsiaSat-2 at 100.5 degrees East. World of Radio is heard on Sunday at 1400 UT.
To North America WRN1 may not be received throughout North America on SiriusXM Satellite Radio Channel 120. WRN1 is broadcast on Telstar 5, 97.0 degrees West, Transponder 27, 12.177 GHz, Vertical Polarisation, 23,000 Msym/s, FEC 2/3, DVB MPEG2 and choose Audio Channel WRN1 (English). World of Radio is heard Saturday 1731 UT, and 1831 UT during standard time. Subtract 6 hours for CST, 5 for CDT.

WRMI has a special WORLD OF RADIO QSL card for reports sent directly to WRMI for broadcasts on WRMI. W.O.R. welcomes informal reports on reception quality, interference problems. Notice a discrepancy in our broadcast times given here or an annoying technical problem? We try to reconfirm the times but sometimes we are the last to know of changes unless you tell us directly.
Continent of Media, an additional half-hour, available on the web if not SW until they appear as a World of Radio Extra when production of a new show takes a week off. Check Anomaly Alert for news of next edition which may be aired elsewhere, or webcast. COM is allegedly produced approximately once a month to sesquimonth, but has been hibernating since mid-2007. Existing subscribers may request an immediate pro-rated refund by supplying a self-addressed stamped envelope and label code number(s). Subscribers who have received RIB Online are considered to have zeroed out their refund (probably well in excess of value owed). Other outstanding subscribers will eventually get a refund, by check in North America, probably IRCs elsewhere. Obviously, new subscriptions are no longer accepted.
