The list is a discussion group for the Portland bicycle activism group Shift. Shift expresses Portland's creative bike culture. We convey an image of bicycling to highlight its positive contributions to the community. We demonstrate that cycling is fun, liberating, empowering, sustainable and environmentally friendly through support of non-violent grassroots projects. Shift is a communications network open to everyone interested in all aspects of bicycling.
