Strangers In A Tangled Wilderness is a collective-run publisher of anarchist culture. We are dedicated to making our work as cheaply available as possible, and to that end we give away print-quality PDFs of nearly everything we publish.

We were founded in late 2003. For several years we ran our own mail-order, primarily when were the publishers of SteamPunk Magazine, but our friends at Combustion Books have since taken over publishing the magazine as well as running our mail-order. Our books may be purchased through them.

Submissions

Anyone interested in having their work published by us should take a look at our current catalog and make certain we seem to be the appropriate publisher. Primarily, we publish cultural artifacts produced by those who are political anarchists. At the moment we are more receiving book submissions than zine submissions. While we do publish the occasional poetry book and zine, this is not our focus and we are unlikely to accept any given work. We do not pay contributors for zines, as we make them available for free whenever possible. We do offer limited payment for certain other projects, like books.
