HOW WE GOT HIM
Not even in Petfinder because he was evidence in an abuse case (bottom right,) four and 1/2 months old

WHAT HE’S LIKE
The sweetest boy in the world and a Beta cat type, who loves everyone

WHERE HIS GENES CAME FROM
He’s definitely a Mostly Maine Coon Cat, the “Gentle Giant” of the cat world

our miracle kitten

I had gone to the shelter to look at a different kitten, who, it turned out, had suddenly been adopted. When I first saw RJ I didn’t even know he was a kitten; his big bone structure and terrible emaciation made him look like an adult stray.

I asked him, “So what’s your story?” and he reached out, claws held in, and patted my cheeks.

I knew no one would take him, because they thought he couldn’t be fixed. I also knew, that I knew, how to fix him.

RJ’s problem was that the extreme neglect of his early years had interrupted his mental development. He would freeze under stress. He didn’t know how to ask for things. He didn’t know how to play!

With the help of some special toys I created, and lots of love and understanding, RJ got to maturity physically, and psychologically, right on schedule.
