Princess Olwyn

spacer HOW WE GOT HER
Found in a local shelter at three months old (bottom left) a “failure to thrive” case, still recovering from a brush with death

WHAT SHE’S LIKE
The Boss. A born Beta cat type, she loves to Supervise and watch over everyone, human or feline

WHERE HER GENES CAME FROM
She’s mostly Norwegian Forest Cat, but the fact that she is a tortoiseshell has the biggest impact on her personality

one cat to rule them all

We were very sad to suddenly lose our shy cat, Smokepuff, but Reverend Jim was devastated. The best cure is to get another cat companion, and so I went off to the shelter with instructions to get another Beta Boy.

The very first cat I saw upon stepping into the shelter was this tiny little scrawny thing who marched out from the back of her cage and stared into my eyes. I worried she was still too sick, and Mr WayofCats had made a different request. But the other boys in the shelter were lively and healthy and had a great chance of getting homes.

She would be a challenge. So she’s the one I chose.

Her coloring is known as Dilute Tortoiseshell, a special mix of coat colors usually found only in females. It also indicates the famous “tortoiseshell attitude,” or tortitude. They want their way!

Olwyn is so sweet about it, no one minds.
