The fast-track program allows eligible undergraduate students to take dual-credit graduate courses that count in both their undergraduate and graduate degrees.

Dual credit program admission requirements for MS Math

  1. Undergraduate Degree: BS Math
  2. Minimum GPA: 3.5 in the major
  3. Maximum number of graduate hours allowed: 15
  4. Two letters of recommendation from Department of Mathematical Sciences faculty
  5. Statement of purpose

The Graduate Studies Committee of the Department makes the decisions.

Graduate Courses Approved for Dual Credit:

Any mathematics graduate class MATH 53** is eligible for dual credit.

Dual credit program admission requirements for MS Statistics

  1. Undergraduate Degree: BS Math
  2. Minimum GPA: 3.5 in the major
  3. Maximum number of graduate hours allowed: 10 hours
  4. Required prerequisite coursework is Math 3323, Math 3325, and Stat 3330
  5. Stat 4380 must be completed prior to graduation with the BS in Math and may not be used for dual credit.
  6. Two letters of recommendation
  7. Statement of purpose

  • STAT 5428 (4 hours) - Introduction to Statistical Analysis
  • STAT 5329 (3 hours) - Statistical Programming
  • MATH 5321 (3 hours) - Principles of Analysis
