A Message from our Executive Director
Welcome to the SUNY Levin Institute. We are situated in midtown Manhattan, in one of the most vibrant and international cities in the world. Our mission is relatively unique in American higher education. Our presence (born in the aftermath of the September 11th tragedy) provides testimony to the creativity, resilience and intelligence of those who initially founded the SUNY Levin Institute. We welcome your active participation, as students, scholars, citizens and leaders, in our programs, activities and, more broadly, in helping us realizing our hopes for making NYC, SUNY, and the state, an even better place to live, work and study. Welcome to the SUNY Levin InstituteThe SUNY Levin Institute promotes thoughtful engagement and an active response to “globalization” and its impact on New York State. The Levin Institute is anchored in the tradition of the urban land grant University: public universities dedicated to addressing challenges of the 21st century metropolis. The Levin Institute enhances public discourse, creates and disseminates knowledge, engages international, domestic and local partners, and develops and manages programs in support of New York’s and the nation’s economic growth, sustainability, and social vitality. The Levin Institute focuses on international engagement, entrepreneurism, innovation, scholarship, and workforce development.
